take a bottle of wine and pay the $15 corkage fee. then you can drink it anywhere on the ship. any bottle purchased at the ship's stores are kept and given back to you the night before you leave. anything but wine (corkage fee), sodas or bottled water..is not allowed.

it's too late for a bar set-up, they need time to get the paper work.

read the daily in your room, each night. they may have some specials listed. remember to make sure you DON'T get the special glass, that adds to your cost. our tables got comped at the casinos, after we go to know the dealers and the pit boss. but we had a group of the same gamblers every night, playing the same game. some heavy betting going on!!

poor girl, just finding out the costs of the drinks, getting get the word on bar setups, it might be too cold to swim in the pools, cost to use the lap pool in the spa...hope your cruise is better then the today has been.:)

when you come back you are going to have to tell me if you do get up early, at least one morning?

Ok, I can't answer your exact question, but if you do want wine - you could buy a bottle with dinner and take the remains back to your cabin. I requested clean glasses from my waiter once and from one of the bartenders once and had no problem getting them. At least this is the way it was in 2006 on NCL Sun. Good luck getting answers about liquor - sorry I couldn't help with that.

i am NOT a early bird, but i was for the trip. just had to be out watching for stuff. we don't drink..hubby at all, my only if it's free. don't drink at all at the casinos...don't want to give them any more of my money then when sober:rolleyes:

keep your eye out for the drink specials, just remember they add 15%...

maybe the prices you heard about were with tips included? i know my niece and her mom were watching out for the special drinks glasses left out. many people order them, but the extra money and then forget or don't care.

if you do order the "drink of the day" tell them without the special glass..save a little money.

we had our pepsi with us, took it in the dining room. worked out great.

BIL needed his dr pepper!! if they ask if you want water, make sure you tell them "not the bottle water". they charge for bottle water. the ship's water (tap) is fine, we drank it all week.

There have been hundreds of posts regarding the cost of drinks onboard vs 'taking your own' ...... from personal experience our group (2 couples) each purchased duty (tax) free before the cruise, packed it in our suitcases, were NOT challenged or ever asked about what was packed and enjoyed Whiskey and Cab Sav in our cabins at whatever time suited us .... Freestyle drinking.

Dispite that we still racked up a sizable drinks tab, cocktail of the day each day and at least 1 martini at each nightly show plus beers during the day.

From our experience the backpack search on reboarding after a day ashore did not seem to pay too much atention to cans or bottles, you could try to carry on a six pack of your favorite that way.

My suggestion forget about the price of drinks, just enjoy the cruise and the varied contacts you will make.

ps a couple of the several bottles of wine we originally took on baord were enjoyed after the cruise, one our balcony at a hawaiian hotel AFTER the cruise the second at our hotel in Sydney .... a well travelled bottle!!!

My favorite drink on the ship was a Chocolate Kiss. It was alcoholic and was only $5.95.

Scan the various menus. (There are about 4 of them.) Different drinks, different prices.

I have to laugh about the prices on the menu. We pay those prices everyday!! I live in a resort area and trust me, those price look normal to me.

As a matter of fact, went out to dinner last night, got a frozen drink, not very big BTW. When the final bill came $12.00:eek: ! Oh well, at least it was good.

Anyway, just enjoy a cold one and have a good time on your cruise.

Pack the liquor (plastic bottles) in your checked luggage. That is what we did on the Pearl and we got it.

a box of wine a half gallon and a couple fifth's in your carry on don't even try to hide it, thats what i did last month on the Spirit no problems, and stop at KMart on St.Thomas and buy a 12 pack put it in the back pack walk aboard and enjoy

We always bring some wine & beer in our suitcases. We've never had a problem. We open our wine in our room and carry a glass to dinner with us. We also get drinks on board too. I love to have the drink of the day!!
