Looking for some friends to meet up and hang out with on the cruise. This is a party of 7, my 3rd cruise, the others-their first. We have a 15, 16, and a five year old. Would like to chat with anyone who is cruising on that date.

I am sure if you go to the roll call board, you will find people posting who are sailing with you.

Have fun-nice ship, great itinerary!

Does the Legend rent dinner jackets? Don't need the whole suit just the jacket. I checked carnival.com and didn't see one for rent but was wondering if they have more rentals on the ship.

*********************************************************

There is a Formalities Shop onboard where you can rent tuxes, dresses, etc. You can also check with your local mens wear stores...they can point you to a good place where you can rent a jacket in your area most of the time. I have also had great luck with my local thrift shops. My sister picked up a complete brand new suit for her husband for under $20.

Hi there, Hopper! I found a roll call thread for your cruise, so go join them! We also had alot of fun getting to know people ahead of time and was great to see people you know around the ship! Don't be discouraged if it's still slow in there...the roll calls tend to heat up a month or two before departure;) Really adds to the excitement if you have a decent group talking in there. And FYI, even tho we sailed in Nov 07, our roll call thread is still alive and kicking...we still talk in there:) Here is the link to your cruise....have a great one!!

Whew .... what a great resource (I think I actually hit every page!) I have a couple other questions about this cruise:

-I've seen a couple threads about carrying on water / drinks (not alcohol, we're not big drinkers), is it better to check it or carry it on? Are most allowed to drop stuff in their cabin once they are on the ship? I could just see myself juggling a plate full of buffet food in one hand while carting around a case of bottled water :D

-what parts of our passports should we copy? And should we bring the copies to the ports with us and leave the originals in the cabin safe? I saw in another thread about leaving a passport at the purser's desk, what's that about? When we come to get back on the ship after being in port it's just the passport and photo ID to get back on the ship?

-if an itinerary gets changed or a port visit gets cancelled, do the shore excursions booked through Carnival automatically get refunded? HOw about if we still visit a certain port, just on a certain day, will our reservations still be booked or would we need to book again once we find out when during the week we will go.

-is the Supper Club open as soon as we are let on the ship Sunday morning? I'm just curious how early I can verify our reservations and book a second evening possibly.

Thanks in advance for any answers you all can give, I'm blown away by all the info on this board!

WE JUST GOT BACK FROM THE 6/8 CRUISE AND EVERYTHING WAS GREAT. AT BELIZE, THE SHIP IS TENDERED A LONG WAY FROM THE PORT. PROBABLY A 15 TO 20 MINUTE RIDE. WE DID THE PRIVATE ISLAND EXCURSION. IT IS A VERY SMALL ISLAND WITH RESTARAUNT, BAR, AND BEACH. IT WAS ALSO A LONG TENDER RIDE. IF YOUR THING IS BEACH AND SUN YOU WOULD ENJOY THIS EXCURSION. WHEN WE LEFT THE ISLAND TO RETURN TO THE SHIP, WE STAYED ON THE TENDER AND THEY TOOK US TO BELIZE CITY. THERE IS ONLY A SMALL SHOPPING AREA THERE. WOULD RECOMMEND GETTING SOME TYPE OF EXCURSION AT BELIZE, BECAUSE THERE IS LITTLE TO DO AT THE PORT AREA.

Are most allowed to drop stuff in their cabin once they are on the ship? I could just see myself juggling a plate full of buffet food in one hand while carting around a case of bottled water :D I've always checked it through in a bag so I don't have to lug it around and because you may not be able to get to your cabin right away.

I don't take my passport into ports. I just lock it in the safe and take my driver's license for photo ID. But if you take a copy of your passport, copy the ID pages.

-if an itinerary gets changed or a port visit gets cancelled, do the shore excursions booked through Carnival automatically get refunded? HOw about if we still visit a certain port, just on a certain day, will our reservations still be booked or would we need to book again once we find out when during the week we will go.Yes, they automatically refund your shore excursions if the port is missed. If for some reason the ports are simply switched around, it would make sense for the shore excursions just to change days. However, I would ask at the shore excursion desk if that should happen.

-is the Supper Club open as soon as we are let on the ship Sunday morning? I'm just curious how early I can verify our reservations and book a second evening possibly.I'm not sure because I didn't go but their number is also listed in the capers or on your cabin phone so you could probably call to verify/book.

I heard that even formal nights are less formal now. What do most men wear for the formal night? What can they get by with easily? My DH is not thrilled with wearing a suit.

Thanks in advance for any help!

My husband wore a jacket and tie. my sons (18 and 21) wanted to wear their suits. you will see everything from tuxedos and gowns to..<gulp> jeans...

my husband wore really nice dress pants, nice formal shirt with a tie, and his jacket (one i hate!)

I put our case of water and alcohol we brought in a suitcase and checked it. it was delivered to our cabin. However, one of the people on our roll call had it in a carryon, and asked their steward if they could drop it off...they let them, but i wouldn't count on it...

Itinerary flip/cancellations: The cruise ship alerted the island ports of our unscheduled flip. we booked trips with independent companies. Honduras and Belize were flipped, but they were prepared. It is my understanding that if you book thru carnival, you will be reimbursed. we only prepaid for one excursion, and didn't need deposits, either, so we were more worried about missing the excursion than losing money.

Supper club: during the time you are waiting to get into your room, there are two separate stations set up where you can make reservations/check reservations for the supper club. I don't know if they were allowing ppl to go up to it. One station is by the purser's desk on deck 2, the other is in the Unicorn Cafe, at the foot of the steps you'd take to get to the supper club. I had wanted to double check to see if the online form was submitted properly (you can book a reservation for dinner online-saved time)-and realized how late i booked. they asked if i wanted to change it, and i did. ;-) quick and easy. We booked our dinner res for the second formal night at nine-and i bumped it to 8. You can go ahead and make reservations or change them during pre-sailing.

btw: supper club is worth EVERY PENNY.

we copied the page with our information/picture on it. we didn't take our passports with us, we also used our driver's licenses. I did bring the copies of the pages w. the passport number, picture, etc. (I even blew them up for easier reading).

you will need your sign and sail card FOR EVERYTHING. every time you enter and leave the ship (even the last day!) you have to give your sign and sail card. my husband and one of my son's s&s card was defective. for three days, whenever they tried to disembark (or get back on), it would buzz, and say "Invalid ID." It took two trips to the purser's desk to have them fix it.

have fun, i am supremely jealous. (even as i sit here and PEEL lol)

I remember being that excited. Now i am suffering from PCD-Post cruise Depression. I swear, i think it is a real medical condition!!!

We wanted to book next year's cruise (my husband finally GETS it LOL), but he is pretty sure they will be on strike next august--and i am headed back to school for my specialist's degree...so we'll have to wait and see. we did book this particular trip only 70 days out.

the one good thing about that was that there was LESS of the hideous waiting!

My friend's son is getting married this weekend. They will be honeymooning on the Legend on Sunday. Thinking of emptying their suitcase and climbing in. I can sleep in a lounge! A deck chair! Anywhere!!

:D

Hi, I tried reading as many of these pages as possible, but still cant find what Im looking for.

We are only going to eat at the Golden Fleece one night. We dont have reservations yet (1st question--can you book it before you get on ship, if so, how?) and wondered which night is best. Is it best to do it on a formal night or the others?

Also, where are the menus I have seen people refer to? I dont want to miss Beef wellington night, either!

Finally, I see that Monday night is Lobster night---is that in the main dining, too, or just Supper Club?

Please help, I leave in 10 days! Im so excited!

yes, you can book the supper club online from the carnival main website...can't recall exactly WHERE, but i did it...they serve the same menu each night...lobster is on it every night....we booked it for the second formal night-never did see beef wellington on that menu in the dining room!

somewhere there is a link-someone uploaded menus from the main dining room onto a photobucket site....it's here somewhere. ;-)

Monday night was formal night-lobster served in the main dining room. However, the lobster that they have daily in the supper club doesn't even COMPARE to what they have in the main dining room!! It is soooo much better!

Monday night's formal night they offered lobster tail w. prawns. They were small-very small-tails. Upstairs in the dinner club they are very LARGE!

Hope this helps, and YES, despite getting off the ship only 10 days ago, i am immensely JEALOUS! LOL

Here's the link for the supperclub reservation: http://surv.cheetahmail.com/s?aid=982238741&o=1&n=28. Just make sure after you board that they received your reservation. This will not be a problem because they are right outside the Lido deck after boarding. We did the supperclub on Grand Cayman night. And, yes the lobster tails are twice as big in the supper club as they are in the regular dining room.

The search is working again...I found the link to the menus (and reservations).

So would you recommend making my reservation for a formal night or not? Im torn. I think the formal night in the Supper club would be nicer. Also, is it shared dining there or can you get a table for two?

Thanks so much.

You definitely get a table for two! :D If you're going to do reservations for formal night you might want to do it for the second formal night. I had swordfish in the regular dining room which was VERY good. But, they don't offer steak or lobster on this night. (You can get the alternative steak, but it's not near as good as the steak in the supper club.)

we decided to do the second formal night, knowing we'd get lobster there and not in the dining room..(i looove lobster!)

we got a table for two-near the windows upstairs. we could see the water. gorgeous place. they do not do the seating with strangers thing up there..but there ARE tables that accommodate larger parties.

I would definitely do the online reservation, and double check while you're doing lunch on the Lido deck...you can also book another reservation at the time...(i noticed how empty the book was that first day!)

since the supper club is pretty formal (at least we never saw anyone going in in casual attire) we figured we'd do the formal night there instead. my sons, incredibly, ate in the dining room on formal night--in their suits-without us!
