Shore Excursions ~ March, 2008

I happened to check the Shore Excursions area on the HAL web site this morning and excursions are ready to be booked already for Grand Turk, Grand Cayman, and Costa Maya. Ft Lauderdale and HMC excursions are not yet showing so I guess I had better call Seattle to book my cabana as opposed to waiting for the site to post them.

Many times you are not able to book some of HAL's shore excursions until close to sailing time -- especially those that are very common.

Definitely call Ship Services to find out when they will open for booking the cabanas for 2008.

There have been times on some of our cruises for ports that aren't visited very often when we were not able to book shore excursions until 4 - 6 weeks before the cruise.

Because what HAL says in cases like this is frequently off by 1-2 weeks. As in they probably will actually release the cabanas any day now.

How do I know? Well it happened when I was watching closely for the cruise we are currently booked on (W'Dam, FLL-SEA, Apr 2008) to come available for booking. They said November 2006, -the bookings actually opened up in mid-October.

Oh, and after reading this thread, I went to the Shore Ex site, which I have also been watching somewhat casually, and found we could book our cabana with Butler!

Purple here we come!
