What to do in PR due to time??

Recommended Posts

We are only arriving in Puerto Rico at 3:00 p.m. which doesn't really give us alot of time before dinner. What do you suggest doing either before dinner or after? What is close to the ship that we can walk to?

Thanks for any info you can share.

We were just there on FOS. Buggy ride tours are $50.00 and up. We skipped it. Took a taxi to El Marrow. If you like old forts it was great to see. There is also a free open are shuttle a couple of blocks from the ship. Seemed slow to arrive so we went in a taxi and returned in the shuttle. $8.00 plus tip for 2 people. El Marrow is open to 6:00pm thru May and till 5:00pm till October. As you exit the dock look for the guys giving out free mini bottles of Bacardi rum. Have a great cruise!:)

As previous poster suggested, a taxi to El Morro is a good start - great place for photos. Then walk (downhill) through Old San Juan back to the pier. There is pretty good souvenir shopping along the way in OSJ.

Enjoy your cruise.

They say 3:00 but we got there a little after 1:00. Take a cab to the fort and walk back passing the shops. It rained (downpoured) a few times we were in PR so we took a cab to the mall for a few hours and then on the way back were dropped off at the fort.

Don't forget the free rum tasting 'excursion' before you get back on the ship!:D

To the OP: we're on the same cruise and FWIW, this is exactly our plan...

We did the Bacardi tour on a previous (land) visit and I must say I was pleasantly surprised - not a big rum drinker but I never realized that there was so much variety available.

Not many other options really...

Does anyone know where Jewel will dock? What else is there in walking distance on a cruise that will be there late afternoon? Are res suggested for Parrot Club, what time do they open for dinner & how long did it take--looks nice from their website....was it a safe walk back or can you get a cab? Thanks
