From the ship to train station in Passau

Any body know if where the ship docks in Passau is far from the train station?

We are leaving the Avalon River empress and taking an independent stay in Prague. after the cruise.

Is it walkable distance or a taxi has to be used?

Usually the river cruise ships are docking along the "Untere Donaulände" right in the center of Passau. From there it´s about a 10 min walk to the train station. But it´s going uphill with cobblestones. We did it without any luggage but I won´t advise to do so with luggage (even wheeled one).

The cruise ships usually are docking to the left and right of the Prinzregent Luitpold Brücke (bridge).

 

There´s another docking area called Passau-Lindau. This is a couple of miles out of town and you definitely will need a taxi from there.
