Recent Alaska cruisers..Tendering in Ketchikan?

Recommended Posts

The CLAA site shows Oosterdam at Dock 1 on 6/7--that's the dock least likely to get involved in disruption because of the construction of the new dock. Some Dock 2 assignments are showing on cruise line web-sites (incl HAL) as having to tender. The 7/4 call by Volendam, shown as Dock 2, is listed by HAL as "Tender Required". When I was there on 5/15, another ship (Princess) was docked at 2, but NCL Sun had to tender. It is (usually) very calm water and is a short distance, so it isn't too bad to tender. The situation can/will change until constuction is farther along, so Dock 2 ships may not know until they get there!
