Wendy The Wanderer Posted May 31, 2007 #1 Share Posted May 31, 2007 Hi, I'm considering the 14-day Marquesas cruise in December 2008, and I'm hoping there are some veterans out there of this cruise, since I know it often has been December for this itin. How hot and muggy is it, or rainy or stormy, compared to the usual weather in the Societies/Tuomotus? (I've been on the PG 3 times, but always just on the Societies.) johnnycruise Posted May 31, 2007 #2 Share Posted May 31, 2007 December average rain in the Marquesas averages 3 3/4 inches vs. 12 1/2 inches in Tahiti.

dfb Posted June 1, 2007 #5 Share Posted June 1, 2007 Wendy, We were there in January. Don't know if that will help you or not. Here is a link to our journal entry of that day. Wendy The Wanderer Posted June 3, 2007 Author #6 Share Posted June 3, 2007 Thanks Debbie, that gives me insight into Nuku Hiva and not just the weather. I read on Tahiti Traveler that their dry season is from August to December, so we have some faint hope of slightly milder temps. Weather is always a bit of a crap shoot these days, anyways. dfb Posted June 3, 2007 #7 Share Posted June 3, 2007 Wendy, You're welcome. You know Donna (Southernlady) was on that cruise too. She probably has a blog entry about that day as well, if you want to look it up for some additional insights. I believe that she and Alan took a tour that day, which we did not, so she probably saw lots more area of the island than we did. Debbie
