dptt Posted June 1, 2007 #1 Share Posted June 1, 2007 We are sailing on the Golden Princess. We are arriving the day before. Please suggest a hotel-motel near the LA. cruise pier. Thank you
Bases5 Posted June 1, 2007 #2 Share Posted June 1, 2007 Hello we booked the 3 star Crowne Plaza in san Padro for $65 with a bid on priceline. The Doubletree there is nice also, so I have read. They both offer shuttles to the port. If you go to west coast ports board there is a lot of threads on this topic and a lot of threds on how to get from Lax to the Hoter. BJS Posted June 1, 2007 #3 Share Posted June 1, 2007 Here is a 2nd for the Crowne Plaza, San Pedro. We have stayed there with their park and cruise program several times and have no complaints.
Fuzzzy Posted June 2, 2007 #4 Share Posted June 2, 2007 I loved the Renniasance in Longbeach. It is just finishing a multi-million renovation. WOW. What a place. And Long Beach is very, very close to San Pedro's Pier.
Rare Keith1010 Posted June 2, 2007 #5 Share Posted June 2, 2007 We prefer Long Beach over San Pedro as well. On the day of embarkation it's about a 15-20 minute drive over to the cruise ship terminal from Long Beach. We stayed at the Hyatt Long Beach Hotel. The hotel was quite nice and has a great location to walk around the area. We also walked into the Renaissance Hotel which the last poster mentioned and that too looks like a very nice hotel. flamomo Posted June 2, 2007 #6 Share Posted June 2, 2007 If you are flying into LAX, you might consider booking the Marriott at LAX through Princess. That's what we have done in the past and are booked there for November and March cruises. The room was $ 69 per person, and includes transfer to the pier. We also stay there the night the cruise ends, and so that includes the transfer from the ship. We don't like to have to worry about getting to the airport after the ship docks, so we book our return flights for the morning after. The hotel is very nice and has restaurants in it. The pool is in a huge atrium in the middle of the hotel. Depending on the day of the week, the transfer to the ship can take as little as 20 minuted. Overall we found this a hassle-free very convenient way to go at a reasonable cost. BTW dptt, when and where is your Golden sailing? We're on her in November.
