rockgarden Posted August 13, 2004 #1 Share Posted August 13, 2004 the Cruise Director on the Sapphire. All of you returnees, please tell me about the director - is he friendly, funny, full of life, or just a guy doing a so-so job? What is his name? LARGIN Posted August 13, 2004 #2 Share Posted August 13, 2004 When are you going on the Sapphire? A Cruise Director on the ship now might not be the Cruise Director on the ship in 6 months..
srphnx Posted August 13, 2004 #3 Share Posted August 13, 2004 They do rotate every few month 3-4?... So timing is an issue.
alaskabound3 Posted August 13, 2004 #4 Share Posted August 13, 2004 Alastair Green (not sure of last name). He was great on our sapphire June cruise. He is British and worn a scotish kilt on one of the formal nights. A very relax, calm and yet funny sense of humor. He was sharp and knew the ship happenings and was a great master of ceremonies for the pax.
rockgarden Posted August 16, 2004 Author #5 Share Posted August 16, 2004 Thankyou all. Alastair sounds great, but since we are not leaving until Januay 2005 expect he will not be the one. Oh, well, will just hope he stays. Rosemary
TJ O'Pootertoot Posted August 16, 2004 #6 Share Posted August 16, 2004 I was on last week's cruise and the CD's name was Trevor...Something. He was ALSO British, as was the CD on the one cruise I have been on previously. Are there CDs who are not British? The only two I've had spoke with the kind of stereotypical British accent you might here on the BBC and I was beginning to wonder if anyone without that accent ever ascends to the rank of CD! Even our assistant CD was a hardcore Brit. TJ
rockgarden Posted August 16, 2004 Author #7 Share Posted August 16, 2004 Well, our past two cruises were both female. OK but nothing to rave about. We did have one American, not very good at all, and all the others have been British or Australian. All pretty good. Supposedly, Graham Seymour is the best - we may have had him but don't remember so don't know his nationality. Just readso many good reports on him. Well, as far as January is concerned, I guess it is up for grabs.
WillB Posted August 16, 2004 #8 Share Posted August 16, 2004 I never understood the importance of the Cruise Director to some passengers. Anyone want to explain this to me? I mean, it would not make one bit of difference to me who it was, so I guess I don't get it.
