Absolute Favorite Ship???

just the cruise director changing on a ship will change the experience of that specific ship, so yes you are on target with what changes it..

I believe you just did the Conquest as I did, so imagine if Mark Price wasn't the Cruise Director but rather someone else who focused on different things, then you'd have a different cruise experience

Okay, gotcha. I hope other Carnival CDs are like Mark. I just loved him:D

How about you?

mmm I think Mark was good in some areas and really lacked in others, but for the most part was very engaging, funny and entertaining. I did find some of his crew rude and snarky, and was often taken aback in how they would speak to customers, which in the end really falls on how Mark runs his crew.

I agree with the crew. A lot of them were too fuzzy.

I liked Mark's personality. I guess I'd be chipper too if I had probably the best job on the ship. Rocco has the hard/stressful job. Mark gets to float.

After a long day of snokeling and swimming in each port, coming back to the room and rewatching Mark and that Newlywed Game on the TV made my day.

We're STILL cracking up about that elderly couple and the husband in the middle couple, lol

If this has already been addressed here, kindly point me to the right thread (the search function isn't working for me for some reason).

I know there will probably be as many answers to this question as there are people on this site, but what's your Absolute FAVORITE Carnival ship?? (preferably ones that port on the east coast, as that's where we'll sail from)

We've only sailed on the Fantasy yet, and we loved it. I'd like to hear from others, though - what's your favorite ship, and why?

I know it is not a Carnival ship but....favorite of all time was the Celebrity horizon...No longer with Celebrity.

48,000 tons with 1300 pax. best Martini Bar at sea. Service beyond belief and cozy.

I've sailed almost every mainstream line and many different class (size) ships. This was the best cruise I was ever on...

I miss the smaller ships...:(

Our first and second was the Fantasy out of Port Canaveral -- fell totally in love with her! Our third was the Celebration out of Jax -- fell totally in love with her! Fourth was Holiday out of Mobile -- fell totally in love with her!! I guess we're polygamists!!

I love the Conquest class ships. I know a lot of people complain about the galley in the middle and having to go up and down to get from one end to the other, but once you're used to the pattern it doesn't really seem like a big deal. We take advantage of the layout to stop usually at the casino bar pre-dinner and the martini bar post dinner and we enjoy watching all the people pose for photos. I don't usually do photo's myself but I'm glad they have started having the back drops available every night instead of just the formal nights.

But bigger the Conquest isn't probably going to be for me until they are all so old that they get replaced with the Sensation class??? (is that the next size up) I guess really since the Spirit class came out none of them are getting much longer just taller with additional cabins and not much more public space.

i have been on too many of the same class, so i have to reserve judment. spirit class and conquest class are next on my agenda. looking forward to both of them, though some have said that having been on triumph class, i am pretty much bound to see the same layout except bigger, on the conquest class.

looking forward to spirit class. many have said they think this is the prettiest class. we shall see... looking forward to both.
Thanks everyone - seems the majority likes the Miracle! I'm going to look into that and see what our pvp can put together for us for next year.
Chalk up another Miracle fan. Great ship, great staff, lots of fun!!
I actually didn't like the Spirit class - Miracle (not to say I didn't have a great cruise!:) ) I preferred the Triumph, however, looking forward to doing the Liberty or Freedom next!
I totally agree!! I much preferred the Triumph (all 3 times!) over the Legend. I loved the Glory, too, but there's just something about the Triumph.

We did the Fantasy two years ago and the Glory this year. All in all, I believe the Fantasy was my favorite. The Glory was nice, but I thought it was too large and there always seemed to be a crowd.

I really enjoyed Elation, and while Conquest was larger and really was beautiful, there were some small details about Elation I liked better (being able to sit on an actual deck by the pizza bar and eat right by the water, whereas on Conquest there are the glassed in walls, and you can't hear or see the water).
