Which cruise line

I wanted to take my DH on an Alaskan cruise for his BD. We just got back from a NCL trip around the HAwiaiin islands and weren't impressed at all with the cruise line. Any advise for which cruise line to take and which port should we leave from. We like being on land more than sea if this helps at all.

You have some decisions to make. :) It sounds like you are looking for a round trip cruise??? Most all, have 3 ports and a glacier. So with your port priority, look for itineraries that have the longest port times.

I much prefer going out of Vancouver due to superior scenic sailing, with HAL my top pick, especially an itinerary that includes Glacier Bay and Tracy Arm.

Plenty to consider- look at ports, time in ports, glacier, route, price.

I have been to Alaska once on Princess and just returned 2 weeks ago form Radiance of the Seas Northbound from Vancouver to Seward. I would most definitely reccomend RCCL over Princess and the main reason is the general age of the cruisers. Princess cruisers were mostly in their late 50's and up and RCCL had a wide variety of ages with mostly late 40's and older. On Princess, there was no nightlife at all and there was never anyone in the disco dancing. On RCCL, the 70's night in the disco was packed and the other nights it was pretty dead (so at least we got to dance one night).

We took the Princess cruise when we were in our mid 30's and felt so out of place on that ship. We now are in our early 40's and didn't feel strange at all on Radiance.

So one determining factor as to which cruise line might be your age.
