Since there has been such controversy re this ship and San Diego I just wanted to come on line and tell everyone that our 06-11 cruise has been great so far:)

Ship is in good shape, crew is great, haven't seen any nasty bathrooms and no sewer spells yet:)

There are a lot of kids of board but there is a diverse mix of passengers and have encountered no packs of teenagers roaming the halls. Have noticed security out and about.

Seas have been smooth (to me) and the food has been as usual, good to very good.

I think anyone who takes this cruise will not be disappointed if you cruise in the right frame of mind:)

One thing that happened that has never happened to me in 18 cruises, I had one bottle of wine consficated going through security yesterday am!!! I had three and they said only two, sooooo gave them the cheapest bottle and told them to enjoy it:D

Hey thanks for the report! And thanks for the heads up with the wine.

Since dh and I don't drink wine we will carry the extra 2 for the kids.....

Thank you SO SO SO much for posting. I have been so concerned by that bad poster and the lack of posters from last 2 sailings. Since we leave in less than 2 weeks I was getting nervous. Have fun! Keep in touch. LOL

Sorry Darlipoo! I have been trying to recover from my cruise and have been very busy at work today since I was just on a mini-vacation.

The Elation is fabulous as always. The crew is some of the best I have come across... The casino, while it did not pay me specifically, was paying some people good payouts! The food was delicious. The dining room wait staff was terrific. Every night they knew exactly what we liked and had it ready on the table for us. It was a party cruise, but that's what a 4 night cruise is. I certainly did my fair share of partying. The weather was spectacular...could not have been better. The band in the Romeo & Julieta lounge was fantastic!

What else is there to say? I'm sure there are some people who didn't enjoy it...they might have been the ones across the hall from the 20-some year old boys really having a good time. The boys didn't me though cuz I wasn't with my family trying to enjoy a relaxing cruise.

I guess my only complaint is that I didn't win in the casino...I did my best trying though!

Hope you enjoy your cruise as much as I did mine. Tell Eva, the casino host, hi from me when you go.

Sounds like you had a great time!

Did you have to check in at the terminal and then cross the street to get over to the ship....Looks like the boarding is different then the Spirit being that the Spirit was docked on the other side...

I am with you on that...I was getting a little nervous myself. Glad you hear your having a great time.

You do have to leave your luggage near the ship, then walk across the way to the terminal which is actually just a large warehouse with terrible acoustics!! Then when you actually board you walk out of the terminal, across the way again and into the tents, showing your sail and sign card, then up the ramps to the ship. A little different from other embarcations that I've had.

Our service everywhere has been outstanding, great cabin steward and great wait team, along with very congenial tablemates, we are having a great time. I will let everyone know about debarkation.

Hi! When you get back home after the Elation cruise would you be able to post about the daily capers. I'm going on the 5nt in Dec. and was wondering which night is formal night. I also have more questions if you would have time to answer.

Thanks!

Formal night on the 5 night is Tuesday. I will save my capers, but don't know how to scan, but will answer any questions when I get home:) Will do a short review here and a longer more detailed review on another board.

We are in Cabo, it's a beautiful day:)

Formal night on the 5 night is Tuesday.

That depends on which day of the week you sail out on. The 5 dayers sails out on Mondays and Saturdays. If you sail out on Saturday then formal nght will be on Sunday. they rotate I believe every other 5 dayer with the 4 dayer in between:)

Kurban, you are probably right about the formal night, with the 5 day leaving on different days of the week.

If Stuart is the blond Australian guy, yes he is the CD. Talked to some folks went to the midnight comedy last night, said it was good. Saw the song and dance show last night, okay, just like all the rest I guess:)

One thing I was totally not prepared for, it's freaking hot in Cabo, I mean really hot:eek: I'm used to heat being from NC, but this was a little brutal, will not suggest doing this with DH unless it's in Nov or Dec (traveling with brother this trip)

Food has been good, staff also very good, purser's desk perhaps a little indifferant, but okay.

They seem to have plenty of stuff going on during the day if you're not a pool deck person.

We didn't stay in Cabo long today and the ship was deserted when we got back.

Will try to check in one more time if anyone has any other quesitons.

purser's desk a little crabby, huh? hopefully you won't have to spend much time there. that place is always a zoo.

i thought stuart handled debarkation exceptionally well when we sailed from the east coast in feb. hopefully, he'll handle it as well for you guys. have a great cruise!

Darlipoo, Monday was cool leaving SD, Tuesday was great, Cabo was sooooo hot, and hot out in the sun on the lido. Today is cool!!! So go figure, the sun is out though so it's nice enough to lay out if you're away from the wind.

Tender service was a breeze, we got off around 9,I don't remember them announcing that you could get off, but we did not have to wait at all. Also coming back, they did not make us wait for a full boat, there was only four of us on the tender.

check out cruisebuggie for my reveiw, will probably take a week or so but it will be very detailed and newsy:) :)

Only one bottle of wine person now, what a bummer that is!!! Also they forgot to take our picture for our sail and sign cards, so when we tried to get off in Cabo, guess what!!! This awful noise came out of the machine, but no problem, they just took our pictures and off we went:) Please excuse sp and grammar, paying way too much here:) :)

The ship is supposed to be full, but does not seem crowded at all.
