Celebrity's Pacific NW Cruise

Recommended Posts

Has anyone out there done the 3 or 4 night Mercury cruise out of Seattle? It goes to Victoria, Nanaimo, then Seattle. Is it the same quality as a normal Celebrity cruise, or more like the 3-day "booze cruises" in Mexico that I remember from college days? We're thinking about going with out of town guests as a way to see some local sights and relax together without having to do a lot of work.

Any input appreciated.

Its not a booze cruise, I went a few years ago with my mom and my two brothers for a birthday present. We had a great time. I was 23 and my brothers younger. I think there were probably 4 other single people on the boat. Most of the bars closed early due to lack of people up late drinking. It was mostly older people just relaxing. We had a great time! We are going again in a few weeks!

I just booked the three day leaving Oct. 5 for my hubby and me. We sailed Mercury to Alaska in Aug. 05 and had a fun time. Hoping really for some low-key time away from home more than anything ... traveling without traveling, you know? Always love Victoria, and interested to see Nanaimo. If the weather doesn't cooperate, hey - in-port spa specials! :D Anyone else gonna be on our trip?

I just got back last Monday from this cruise, and it was really nice. There seemed to be an even mix of older folks and young couples and young families. The clubs were active but not rowdy. One surprise for us was that the casino and shops were closed Saturday night. There was something said about a Victoria customs law or something... I never did understand.

The ship itself was very clean and had a feel of quiet elegance. My only complaint was the hair dryer in the cabin. One speed with very little power...it equaled a disaster for me. Made me wish I had packed my own from home.

Hi, glad you had a good time:)

I would have told you to bring your own dryer (if I had known).

Sorry!

My hair is really short so I don't use it but I know many of

the gals have posted about the weakness of the cruiseline's

hair dryers.

You know for the future;)

Being originally from Ontario and growing up with the colour of the maple trees I really sort of forget about here. On the coast we have mostly coniferous tress and are quite green all year....but more and more there have been other trees brought in that put some colour into the landscape and our birch and poplar trees lend shades of gold. I'd just be guessing on timing sorry.
