Bakers810 Posted June 28, 2007 #1 Share Posted June 28, 2007 Has anyone done the Cocoa Reef glass bottom boat tour in Coco Cay? We are contemplating this one, but since the tour begins at 10:00 am and we have to be tendered, I imagine we'll be stuck on the ship until 10:00 and then tendered either back to the ship or to the island at 11:45. I don't know if the tour would be worth it to end up with only 4-5 hours of beach time. Any thoughts or suggestions?
Silvery Seas Cruiser Posted June 29, 2007 #2 Share Posted June 29, 2007 I'm not sure why, or even if, you have to stay on the ship until 10:00 AM to take the tender over to Coco Cay. You can go any time as soon as they start the tender ships running back and forth. They keep two going all the time. You don't need a ticket to get on a tender. Just find out where you have to meet on the island for the glass-bottom boat tour and be there at the specified time. If I recall correctly, tenders start running as early as 8:00 AM unless weather prevents their use. The other thing is that it seems to me that four or five hours of beach time would be plenty, but that is just my opinion. I worry about sunburns. Bakers810 Posted July 4, 2007 Author #3 Share Posted July 4, 2007 I guess I was thinking the tour participants would meet on the ship rather than on the island because of the timing (tendering starts at 8:00 am, tour begins at 10:00 am). But that may not be the case, and like you said, 4-5 hours on the island will probably be plenty. I guess I'm just getting carried away because this is our honeymoon and I want everything to be perfect. Thanks for the advice!!
