OK, I'm in...223 lbs/6'1". Going on cruise February 8, 2008. 23lbs by then...will post my progress every Sunday evening, up or down! Need to exercise, hate to exercise :( Gonna give it all I got! Thanks everyone!

I only lost 0.8 pounds this week, but I'll take it!

 

Rachielnn, nearly a pound, well done.

In the UK at WW we only have pound and half pound increments. I am not sure whether that is good or not. I felt sure last week that I had lost a bit and it showed STS. Still, nil desperandum, it should show up this Thursday with a bit more added to the loss.

Welcome Donna!

It's so great to know there are others in the same boat I am. Sometimes I look at all the skinny people running around and I wonder what is wrong with me. It is nice to have others that understand what we are going through. I had lost over 2 pounds this week. That was until Labor Day! Then I ate 1 ear corn, 1/2 cup potato salad, some ribs, a beer, and 2 margaritas during the day. The result is my nice 2+ weight loss turned into just .9 pound. Better than nothing, but still a dissapointment. It is hard to know that cheat just a little and here come the pounds. At least it is food I am addicted to and not alcohol or drugs!!!! But today starts another week. I am going to do it!!!!!

Wow! Thanks Everyone! So nice of everyone to speak up! I know I'm not going to get tooooo excited, but it's been only 4 days on my diet, and I know it's water wieght, etc, etc that comes off first but...I'm down 2lbs already! :) Feels good, I know, I'm on the first flush of a new diet high. But I really want this too work. Not just for my cruise...it still good reason to get me going...but for my health.

Donna~Welcome to our group and congrats on your weight loss! Such a good start for you. Good going!!

 

Dianne~I hope you get as hooked on your treadmill as I have. I use mine at home and also the one at the gym. I put in my earphones and start pacing and before I know it a half hour has passed. I've been especially happy to be adding incline and a little quicker pace to my routine. Go get em!!

 

RachieLnnn!~Great job with your weight loss. It isn't always easy to stay on track when our lives are so hectic and you lost weight just the same. :D

 

I hope that everyone had a wonderful Labor Day weekend and that the upcoming week is a good one for everyone. Forward and downward!!

I have a newbie question. I was told I would lose better if I was willing to give up caffine. Has anyone had any experience with this? It would be hard to do, but I'm willing if it would help. I do drink alot of other fluids that are not caffinated (sp).

Donna, my coffee is the one thing I won't give up if I don't have to. I drink it black and have cut way back on it but I still have about 4 cups a day. So far the weight is coming off, potion control is my problem.

 

I went to weight watchers today and lost another .8 I think I can attribute that to the treadmill we bought this week end. I'm feeling pretty motivated right now.:D

Donna~I am also unable to give up my caffeine completely but I have cut back, about 3 cups of coffee a day. I don't know if cutting caffeine out of my diet totally would help with weight loss but hopefully someone else may have that info. I do drink 50+ ozs of water a day as well.

 

Dianne~Good job continuing to lose weight! That treadmill is working for you. That's great! Keep up the good work. :D

Thanks Cherie, I also drink a lot of water a day so maybe we are diluting our caffeine intake.:D The treadmill is there because it has some great programs on it and I can go up ti a 12% incline. I still prefer walking outside but sometimes I'm to lazy to head out the door.

Dianne, you're awesome! I've had so many exercise machines that don't get used at my house. I wish I could be more motivated to exercise.

 

Donna, I don't know any "facts", but I drink diet Pepsi, and won't give it up. I was told once that the carbonation makes you gain weight, but I've tried it both ways and didn't see a difference. Just my experience. I also drink lots of water which I think does make a difference. A ww leader told me one time that any liquid counts as your water, and for a while I was counting it that way, but I feel and lose better when my water is just water. Good luck!

Morning all. Having been disappointed with a STS last week, I am thrilled with a 3lb loss this week. I knew last week was an abberation. In the past that is exactly the sort of time I would have become dis-heartened and given up. Now thanks in great part to these boards I am motivated and doing well. Managed the stats thing too!

 

I can't comment on the caffeine thing as I always drink de-caf anyway to assist with acid reflux problem.

 

I now have 8 weeks to lose the 11lbs left to get to 10% before cruising on November 5th.

Well, no getting around this - I"m backsliding. I had a gain this week. The beautiful thing about this, though, is that today is a new day, and I'm starting over. Back to journaling and tracking points! No pep talks needed, no KITA required. I know what I've got to do, and I'm gonna do it!

Just to let everyone know, I have been not so good these past few days. I dont know what is going on. I just want to eat. My gym has been closed all this week for its annual shut down. I have been running, but my body misses the weight lifting and aerobics. I would think i would be less hungry with not as much exercise but i am the opposite. Today I am going to stay on track. I dont weigh in until Wednesday, hopefully i will not have a gain.

Thanks for the congrats.

Now I am well and truly on track I had the courage to check my old WW book. This time last year I had lost weight, was at about the same weight I am now and then stopped going. I had lost enough to fit into my cruise clothes, felt better and thought it was enough of a cushion. I started eating 'normally' again even before the trip.

 

2 weeks later we went on a 2 week cruise followed by 2 weeks in Florida. It was an exceptional time as we then only had 17 days back home before flying to Canada for 2 and half weeks including Christmas and New Year with all my family. We had a wonderful time and I was home for 2 weeks when I heard that a new WW club had opened in my village. The next week I went and in 3 months I had gained...............................20lbs!!!!!!!

 

How greedy and stupid is that.

With all your help, I AM NOT DOING THAT AGAIN.

 

So for those who are flagging at present, chin-up, keep tracking, keep moving and, like me, DON'T GIVE UP!

Cinnamon, I definitely relate to your story... only sad part is how easy and fast it is to GAIN 20 lbs, and how slow and hard it is to LOSE!

 

My good news is that -- having gained 3 lbs (about half of what I expected) on my Disneyworld trip with free dining (and what great food we had!) -- I have already lost it on one week back on my Isagenix program... and that without ANY exercise!

 

Don't ask -- the week before we went away I was up and down to my car shop every day, morning and night -- no gym time... and the week we got back, my membership had lapsed and the gym manager who keeps me current on a barter-basis was out of the country!!

 

Well, he emailed from halfway around the world to get me on the guest list (!) and I got to work out last night, which was a real treat -- never thought I would miss working out, but I felt cranky and logy and depressed all week (at least in Disneyworld there was all that walking and the waterparks).

 

Today is a cleanse day, so I am feeling light and lovely. I am happy to have "stayed the same" overall -- and looking forward to working off the remaining 14 lbs to make my goal by October 20.

 

Cruise date is drawing closer and I am getting excited!!

Good morning everyone. I had a good week...getting back on track with WOE...and starting a more serious WOEx...Went to the gym 2 days and am planning to make it 3 days this week. Had a 3 pound loss, so I'm a happy camper....er cruiser. ;)
