Need info on arriving in Vancouver and transferring to the ship. ThanksIs US Direct an airline? I only know that name as a satellite TV provider. But for the second part of your quetsion, yes HAL "works with" Delta. We purchased our air through HAL and have Delta flights for my Sep return from Vancouver. To get from the airport to Canada Place you can either buy a HAL bus transfer or take a cab. It's not very far.
RuthC Posted July 10, 2007 #3 Share Posted July 10, 2007 Is US Direct an airline? John, my understanding of "US Direct" is that it is a method of bypassing certain Customs/Immigration formalities when you are going directly to/from the US on an Alaska cruise that begins/ends in Vancouver. It's available to those who meet the eligibility requirements which include transferring the same day. I don't know any more of the in's and outs's. :o

Odd that our TA never mentioned it, since we are flying out of Vancouver a few hours after disembarking. Maybe it's an "automatic" thing? I hope! :)
BJane Posted July 10, 2007 #5 Share Posted July 10, 2007 I've used US Direct a couple of times. What a difference from the "old fashioned" way. I seem to recall that you had to have direct flights in order to be eligible. Since I was flying between SFO and Vancouver there was no problem. If you can qualify for it, by all means use it. patca Posted July 11, 2007 Author #6 Share Posted July 11, 2007 Thanks for the reply, but how do you arrange US Direct? Do I call Holland America or Delta? Is there any paperwork involved? Appreciate your reply. Pat
