Ugly Betty Fan Posted July 11, 2007 #1 Share Posted July 11, 2007 I'm still very new here and to cruising. I asked a question yesterday about holiday cruises and received some wonderful answers, and, as I keep browsing through the Cruise Critic site, I found the Members Cruises section and learned about them and how they work. My question is: why aren't there any Cruise Critic Member Cruises scheduled for the holidays? Is it that none of the cruise lines want groups during the holidays or it's too hard to get space or is it some other reason? And, yes, I now know that MANY people here on Cruise Critic are against the crowds, hassles, kids and higher prices - but what about those who are interested? To me, it just seems like it's a shame that there aren't any available since we can't be the only family interested in cruising during the holidays. What are you thoughts on this subject? The purpose of any "special" cruise is to increase interest and bookings. Holiday cruises are always popular anyway, so they have no need to do something like a "Members Cruise" to promote them. It's simple economics. Go ahead and book your holiday cruise and have a great time. It just won't be a "Members Cruise."
Dreamz2cruise Posted July 11, 2007 #3 Share Posted July 11, 2007 What is the benefit of a Member's Cruise?... I scheduled a cruise in Nov 08 based on the fact it's my and DH 20th anniversary - but come to find out it's listed as a CC Member cruise. What does that exactly mean?... I booked on their big one-day sale so I did get the $100 OBC - are there any other perks that I don't know about? Just wondering!:)
