mpk Posted May 8, 2004 #1 Share Posted May 8, 2004 I'm trying to get two cabins on two different decks located closer. Next door, if possible So I've been looking at the deck maps for unassigned cabins. Anyway, the way categories sell out, open up, etc. suggests that the cruiselines overbook. Not a judgment on my part, they probably need to overbook. It seems like there is a lot of reserving and canceling going on, especially during the 100% refund window. So if a category is open, but nothing is available except GUAR, does that means there are actually cabins available? Or does that mean they are overselling? People are contacted and made offers to switch to other sailings. More likely, if sailing date is still before final payment and category is sold out, some TAs are holding group space. If they are not sold by final payment they release them and those categories will then be available.
