sunsetme Posted August 18, 2004 #1 Share Posted August 18, 2004 I am considering buying a snorkel vest. I notice they cost about $30-$40 depending on the denier. I only snorkel a couple of cruises a year but would like the flotation. does anyone have a recommendation?
Woodsmaster Posted August 19, 2004 #2 Share Posted August 19, 2004 There are four of us in our family. I bought all of ours at our local diveshop and the price was between $29 and $35. We carry them anytime we are going snorkeling. Our own gear and we know they work.

Rare fellswoop Posted August 30, 2004 #5 Share Posted August 30, 2004 We bought them for our Tahiti trip and they were great. Especially useful for drift snokeling when you are trying your best not to bump into coral so at least you don't have to worry about sinking too low. PGcruiser Posted August 31, 2004 #6 Share Posted August 31, 2004 We would like to purchase 2 snorkel vests for our upcoming trip to Hawaii. Does anyone know of anywhere in Vancouver, Canada you can purchase these.
beachchick Posted September 8, 2004 #7 Share Posted September 8, 2004 We also recommend Diver's Direct. The prices are good and the staff is great. Haven't done the online for "extras" yet, but I've heard good things about the website. We waited and went to the Orlando location. We're really happy with our purchases. We looked and shopped and got advice the first time; then purchased a couple of days later. We got really good, well fitted gear for a good price. Plus we were able to test it for a week to make sure it was right for us. Anyway, try Diver's Direct online. If it's as good as the shop and outlet, you won't be disappointed. We bought vests, which I used to think were an unneccessary extra--I didn't know what I was missing. It's not in the way and what a nice measure of safety; plus ours are bright yellow--all the easier to see me if I have a problem. beachchick
