Alaska Cruisers...Pool question

Specifically, the Island Princess.

 

Are the outdoor pools heated? My teens are daredevils and probably wouldn't mind swimming outside in a heated pool even if the weather is very cool.

 

Oh, and are they fresh or saltwater pools?

Freshwater :)

 

Not sure if it is heated. Several went swimming outside on our Alaska Coral Princess cruise (ship identical to Island Princess).

Coral, I just looked at your pics. They are just terrific!!! Where where you when you saw the orcas? Thanks for sharing them!

First week of June 2003 was my Coral Princess cruise (cruise was May 30th I believe).

 

I was there the same time this year and we didn't see any orcas during our whale watching excursion - we saw some from the ship but too far out to get good pictures.

 

Enjoy your trip. The Coral Princess is my favorite ship so far - I am sure you will love the sister ship.
