NMCruzzin Posted January 4, 2008 Author #27 Share Posted January 4, 2008 Hi There, I'm bringing up this thread again - did you get an iPod for Christmas? My sister did, and we dug up some really great music CD's and traded them to put on our iPods. After all of the 'fun' I had in December, I'll be walking everyday to my tunes for at least the next 6 weeks! :o I've been going over some of the lists and writing some of them that I want to check out on the i tunes store and add to my library. So I guess I'm guilty of bumping this back up - but if you have some music ideas to share....do it! * If you like jazz....I got a CD called Nils - Pacific Coast Highway - I like it!:) check it out. Happy Tunes Everyone!:D

ndwells05 Posted January 8, 2008 #29 Share Posted January 8, 2008 My mom got me an iPOD for Christmas. I like to walk three miles (fast paced) a couple times a week. Some of the songs that get me moving are: Blue Monday - Orgy, If - Janet Jackson, Gotta Get Thru This - Daniel Bedingfield, Blue - Eiffel 65, and Yeah! - Usher. na44 Posted January 10, 2008 #32 Share Posted January 10, 2008 Well, these aren't the first 3 on the list, but they are my KICK-TRASH songs! I Need A Hero - Bonnie Tyler I Feel Love - Blue Man Group (great drums for you runners) Come On Eileen - Save Ferris (way faster then Dexie's Midnight Runners and great for interval training) Also, I have to admit, I love the Hawaii 5-0 theme and the Rocky theme. I feel like a rockstar when I run to them. (besides, we all know that when you have the Rocky theme playing in the background that you CAN NOT stop and walk. It's a natural law that can't be denied) Nellie Hey...I'm kind of new around here, how do I get my online signature with my countdown to appear? NMCruzzin Posted January 10, 2008 Author #33 Share Posted January 10, 2008 Hi na44, Thanks for adding your songs to the lists - it just keeps growing and I never thought of adding music from the Blue Man Group! I'll have to check that out! And you are right on about that Rocky Music! :D Go to the top of the page and look to your left - you'll see User CP... click on that and your profile should come up so you can add your signature. Hope this helps!
AndyB Posted January 12, 2008 #34 Share Posted January 12, 2008 I don't have an ipod, but an mp3, close enough! DH got me one for x-mas, and has loaded a playlist for me, and I've been thinking I need to create one for the gym - these are some that get me through the MTR (metro) stations on my way to work. Pump it Up - Elvis C. Gimme Shelter - Stones I Want You to Want Me - Cheap Trick Fast As You - Dwight Yoakam But I'll also be checking out that Pirates of the Caribbean soundtrack - gotta connect the exercise to the cruise! shieldsfamilyof4 Posted January 17, 2008 #36 Share Posted January 17, 2008 Great thread! I have a weird taste in music. I started riding the Recumbent Bike at the gym and believe it or not I have the following on my list for the bike: Pavarotti - Nessum Dorma (Opera) which I use as my warm up Dean Martin - Mambo Italiano (Oldie) - Get's me moving a little quicker Third Day - Sing a Song (Christian Rock) keeps me moving Nelly - Shake Your Tailfeather (Rap) much faster pace Nelly - #1 (Rap) I sing this to my employees every day so they remember that we are #1 Hot Action Cop - Fever for the Flava -(Rock) Extremely EXPLICIT song but the beat and pace are great. Try not to listen to the lyrics. They are vulgar and I promise I did not know what they were saying when I put it on my iPod. As a matter of fact I had it on in my car when my teenage daughter got in and said MOM, WHAT ARE YOU LISTENING TO?? I'm embarrased to say it's on my iPod but this is the fastest paced song on my iPod and I use it as my half way mark. GO REAL FAST for 4-5 minutes!! Beastie Boys - Fight for your right (Rap) Tower of Power - Diggin on James Brown (R & B - Soul) Toby Keith - Good to go to Mexico - (Country) start to slow it down (GREAT CRUISE SONG!) LSU FIGHT SONG (self explanatory - gives me a winner's attitude!) Beatles - In my Life (Oldie) last song. Slows me down and makes me think of all the things I'm thankful for in my life. Don't hold my list against me!! Vickie

It says free - and updates each time you sync for new music. Just wondering how this works - and do you like it? I personally kind of like using some of my own selections but am not opposed to trying something a little different once in awhile.

Loyal2RoyalCaribbean Posted March 1, 2008 #50 Share Posted March 1, 2008 I don't have certain songs to listen to but I find it more succesful if I exercise to slow songs, I do my push-ups and sit-ups, and jog to the beat of the slow music, mostly country or sad/depressing songs. The workout is more effective if it's done slowly, and it doesn't seem so brutal if music is involved.
