mikemel49 Posted July 25, 2007 #1 Share Posted July 25, 2007 For our first child-free holiday in 10 years, we are splurging on a Navigator suite, 930. Also our first Regent cruise and we are coming a long way from the land Down Under. Is this good location, no vibration, noise from elevators or things like that? thanks
bogie113 Posted July 25, 2007 #2 Share Posted July 25, 2007 Hmmmm.... I would think again :( . If you take a look at deck 10 it would appear that cabin 930 is driectly below the pool deck  !!!!! Lets just say you won't have to leave a wake-up call. The sound of the crew moving the pool furniture around at 6:30 AM will take care of that  Sorry... please don't shoot the messenger. You should not hear a thing and if you do you should not hesitate to call receptions asap and let them know. If it is waking you up it is waking up other too. This is NOT a comment Regent wants to see on the comment card, especially from suite/penthouse guests. They only "small" down side to 930 is that there is an adjoining balcony next to 928. The other Navigator Suite have isolated balconies. j
bogie113 Posted July 25, 2007 #4 Share Posted July 25, 2007 With all due respect Mariner, we did have the agust experience of hearing the crew moving the furniture. They could have been tiptoeing in their bare feet and even if you would like to believe they carried each piece rather than dragging the heavier ones. And then there is the sound of their rolling carts of trays, dishes, etc. It is still a lot of activity on a wooden deck directly above a sleeping area. As far as contacting the desk. Try the hotel manager, captain, cruise director and the butler. Try contating any combination of them on any given day. betya they will be very surprised each time you mention it and say that it will be taken care of immediately. Then the next morning you try again. If it were happening to someone else we would have found it humorous, but it was us and we didn't. That is not to say that we don't sail Regent any more, we do. We are just very careful in our cabin selection. Our experience is that you have much more to fear from what is directly above or below you than if there is an elevator or laundry room near by. Actually I don't mind either as it just makes our life on board that much easier. Anyway, that's my four cents worth. Marsha
