Princess for kids & teens?

We're planning a cruise with extended family, and there will be kids ages 5, 10, 14, and 17 in our group. We'll be going over Christmas break, and I was considering either the Crown Princess or Caribbean Princess. We didn't have our kids with us on the Grand, so I'm looking for feedback on the kid's program on Princess. I'm trying to avoid taking the grandparents on Carnival, and one family said our RCI Liberty booking was too much $ for them to be able to join us, and we don't want them excluded, so we're looking for another option. Princess has better rates than LOS.

Princess does have a wonderful childrens program. It doesn't always get mentioned as much as some, but it is one of the best in the cruise industry. I think that Princess is a great choice for an extended family.

My 2 kids have been cruising on Princess since they were 7 years old. They are now 30 and 23 with 1 grandchild (for me that is). They are both 2 cruises short of being elite - my 3 YO grandson is on his 3rd cruise next March.

We found that even though the program seems to be great, and I have other family members that have used it and loved it, my kids rarely did. They were entralled with the shows, swimming, bingo, tours of the kitchen and just about everything that you would enjoy, they did too. My daughter learned how to fold napkins on one cruise-she spent most of her time helping the restaurant staff set tables. They liked eating in the fancy restuarant, having pizza with friends made on board - and of course they were with us on shore excursions. You'll find the crew loves well mannered kids because they miss their own and will make them feel like royalty.

We recently cruised Princess, and our kids, 12 and 9 enjoyed the activities in the Kids Program. The only downside was there were too many of their age on the ship and they wouldn't fit in the kids club room. They did provide another space for them and it worked ok. We went to Alaska and noticed that there weren't as many family activities, but all in all a good time. Some of the activities were a casino night, two movie nights, roller coaster building, survivor night, t-shirt coloring, talent show, games, BINGO, and more. If you book the Caribbean Princess, I would think MUTS (movies under the stars) will be a lot of fun for your kids. Have a great time!:)
