Wrong Week!

A close friend of mine booked a cruise on Carnival Freedom for March Break or thought it was March Break. She is a special needs teacher and will not be able to get the week off. She had already paid the deposit when she realized they were booked the week following not the week of March Break. Do you think she might be able to switch weeks? Her booking includes the airfare. Thanks for any comments or suggestions!

If she has only put down the deposit and not made the final payment she should easily be able to switch to another cruise and have her deposit moved to the new booking. Advise your friend to followup on this right away.

There may be a rate difference, but she should be able to switch without much of a problem.

This happened to me! I booked a cruise based on the school district's advertised calendar for next year. Then the state went and changed the testing dates so the district was forced to change spring break. I was able to change my booking, no problem. BUT...it cost me $1500 more! Our new spring break is now the busiest one in March...Easter Week! Oh and the $$ had gone up while I was waiting to see what the new date would be so tell her to change it NOW!!! Good luck!

she should be able to change but the price might be different..

 

and sometimes the cruiseline charges 50$ to change,

carnival did this when we changed our dates one time...

This is still far enough away from the cruise date that there shouldn't be a problem in switching. I'd switch right away though.

Thanks for all your comments and suggestions. She was able to switch to March Break week but had to switch to a different itinerary as the ship does alternating weeks eastern, western. However she is just happy to be cruising!
