Rare Tom-n-Cheryl Posted August 22, 2004 #1 Share Posted August 22, 2004 When sailing out of New Orleans (on the Conquest for example) when does the Casino open on the ship? Do they open while going down the Mississippi, or do they wait until they are in international waters? (about what time would that be?) Thanks! lcpagejr Posted August 22, 2004 #3 Share Posted August 22, 2004 Usually it's International waters (an hour or so after leaving). When you board the ship ...just check the Carnival Capers and the time the Casiono opens will be shown.
selucrey Posted August 22, 2004 #4 Share Posted August 22, 2004 The casino doesn't open until the ship gets into the gulf which is many hours after it leaves the dock. The Conquest leaves the dock at 6:00 P/M and gets to the gulf about 2:00 A/M. Rare Tom-n-Cheryl Posted August 22, 2004 Author #5 Share Posted August 22, 2004 gsb: can you define "ntnt" ?? (yes, I will hit the casino every day that it is open... if the ship did not have a casino, I would NOT be cruising!) Thanks SELUCREY! (I think I would just SKIP the casino that day!!!) I was considering the Sensation 4 day out of New Orleans for a quickie next spring... I know that the river journey takes a few hours - the Sensation will leave Cozumel SEVEN hours earlier (5pm instead of MIDNIGHT) after its home port changes from Tampa to New Orleans. Tampa is actually closer for me to drive to, but the Inspiration does not have a 4 day for the dates I am looking at... (The Inspiration will take the Sensations spot of 4/5 day trips out of Tampa, and will be staying in Cozumel until MIDNIGHT on the 4 nighter... a true PARTY journey!) irishgirl Posted August 22, 2004 #6 Share Posted August 22, 2004 I happen to have the Conquest Capers right in front of me. Ship sails at 6:00 pm and the casino opens at 6:30 pm. Have fun.
BrendaB1 Posted August 22, 2004 #7 Share Posted August 22, 2004 That's what I was thinking too. Seems like last year on Conquest. we gambled soon after sailing. We will be on Sensation soon....will try to remember to see what time casino opens as we sail first trip out of Nola.
dan40 Posted August 22, 2004 #8 Share Posted August 22, 2004 Don't know this to be fact, but since they have riverboat gambling on the river, shouldn't cruiseship casinos be able to open too? Dan
BottledRed Posted August 22, 2004 #9 Share Posted August 22, 2004 Don't know this to be fact, but since they have riverboat gambling on the river, shouldn't cruiseship casinos be able to open too? Dan You would think so but ship casinos are licensed in other countries -- so they may or may not be permitted to run based on state laws.
