Captain's Welcome/Farewell Cocktail parties

I think it's worth doing at least once. Princess does theirs mainly in the atrium, with passengers milling around in their formal wear which gives it a very festive feeling.Usually one or two of the lounges are also participating. Other lines I've been on have had passengers file into the main theater and sit down to wait for the speeches. On Princess, the Captain speaks from the bottom of the atrium and introduces the other officers --- it's also shown on monitors throughout the ship. Waiters circle around with drinks, common ones likes a martini and manhattan and various rum drinks --- but they are usually willing to bring you something else if you ask.You can usually have a few without much problem. Other waiters circle around with trays of canapes. It's not too lengthy and makes a nice start to the evening---
