We had a great time but the ship was crowded and there were alot of kids who were getting restless by the end of the week. We had the corner aft balcony and they were throwing things down on us more than once. I got on to them and they would stop. There were tropical storm watches out for St. Martin when we were there but thankfully we got the heck out of there before Dean came through. The weather was really good except for a few showers in Naussau. The coast guard evaced a passenger off on the last day at sea. They were right over our balcony and we got some awesome pictures which I will post soon. We heard it was a little girl with appendicitis but could of just been a rumor. I hope it was just that and she is ok. We ate at Scarletts and it was terrible. A few in the group said their steak was good tho. The casino was hopping and we won a couple hundred bucks. Went to St. Johns and trunk bay and absolutely loved it. It was gorgeous. I had been on Conquest in April where they honored the adult only pool on the aft. NOT on Valor...we were not happy! The kids had 2 pools with a huge slide and we had no adult pool! This was our only real complaint except our waiter did not speak or understand english well at all so dinner was interesting but the food was good. Miami was a nice port to leave from and we enjoyed the scenery leaving there. We stayed few days in the keys and went to Key West after the cruise. Let me know if you have questions and I can answer them tomorrow. We volunteered to give up our seats on our flight home in Atlanta and got 800 in vouchers for future flights but we got home late so were exhausted but at least have our air fare for our next cruise.

Thanks for your review!!!!

Did you find any ping-pong tables on ship? How busy were they?

How about the show times in the theatre? Was it a lot of noise in there until late at nigh? (My stateroom is under the theatre's entrance)

Did you found any "chair-hog-and-kid-free" sunny spot on the ship, or was is packed everywhere?...

Thank you! :)

Hi, going on the Valor for first cruise in a couple weeks. bummer about no adults only pool/deck. do all rooms have a refrigerator? also did you have a balcony and if so was it pretty private? (to sunbathe topless maybe)

how were the lounges/disco at nite? also, we are planning to go to St Johns also and was wondering how much the cab cost to get to Red Hook ferry? thanks very much!

We didnt see any ping pong tables but we didnt get to explore the ship from top to bottom, just not enough time. We ended going up to where it used to be the topless deck to get some sun. There were no kids there and no one was topless. The chair hogs were in full force even trying to use napkins from the buffet to save chairs. We moved down by the pool later in the day and I moved them. We never went to one show but our friends did and they said the 80's review was good.

We're thinking of booking aft balcony on Valor. Which deck were you on? Did the room have a sofa? Were kids throwing things down on your balcony a constant problem or a one time thing. We're going Easter week so it will be packed with kids.

Im not sure if every room had a fridge but we had the corner aft balcony and ours did. Two other couples with us had the 2 aft balconies next to us and the steward opened all the dividers so we had quite the balcony. On the aft it is not very private since the balconies are staggered but on the side it was more private. The discos were always going every night. The teen disco seemed really busy as there were alot of teens. The taxi to red hook was 8 per person.

We had the kids throw things about 3 times and it was when we were in port. I took care of it and yelled at them to stop or I was coming up there. We were on deck 7 in cabin 7440. We did not have a sofa, we had a table and 2 chairs but the cabin was really big. Our friends next door wished they had gotten the cabin next to us on the side that is L shaped. I wouldnt cruise this time of year again on an all adult trip because there were so many kids but we did have a great time.

You know how I've been waiting to hear all about it!!!

I am sorry about those kids throwing things. Parents need to take some responsability for the br**'s. If I had young children I would not let them out of my sight. Too many things can happen. Since I am going 9-23-07, I hope that there will not be an overload of children. I love kids especially my grandchildren, but there are limits.

What happened at Scarlettes. I just made reservations, I hope I will not be disappointed.

What kinda of machines did you play to win?

Did you enjoy Key West?

I watched you on the cams, it appeared you were having good weather. I was glad you got out of the Caribbean Sea before Dean came thru. I guess he had the right of way. LOL:D :D. How was the last sea day. It seemed it was rough. Now their cam is broken. I don't know where the ship is. I looked at the St. Thomas Cam and its not there. I think it changed Itineraries after Nassau. At first they cancelled the western caribbean itinerary, now I think they ended up going.

Glad you did enjoy your cruise, even thou it had a few hiccups!!

Not to rush you or anything, but when will you post the pictures? When are you going again?

I was on the Valor July 1-8 sailing. We had a group of 74 which included about 35 kids from 8-21. I thought the Valor was a great cruise. It was a sold out cruise so it was packed, but I thought the ship was laid out fine because it didn't really feel that crowded. Always found seats at the shows and lounges. The most crowded part of the ship to me, was the promenade on Deck 5 down past the Casino, disco etc. I noticed that the teens like to hang out around the tables and seats set along the windows on Deck 5 (this is the main area where everything is located). I know some of our kids met alot of teens from other states and had a good time getting to hang out with them. (They have even kept in touch with some and they have visted each other) The teens also had a great time in the Disco and the younger kids really enjoyed Camp Carnival. They kept asking to go back. With 3 sea days it was a little hard to find chairs at the pool, but we usually went on the upper deck (not near the pool) which made it easier. When you cruise in the summer just remember that is when a majority of families travel and it will be packed with kids. I didn't notice any really bad behavior from the kids on board, just kids being normal kids. I would recommend this ship to anyone. Activities and food were good and overall we felt that we all got our monies worth for our big family vacation.

Scarletts was a big disappointment for the money. The presentation of the food was good but we sat there for over 30 minutes without refills on drinks and they didnt use very much ice. The waitress seemed kinda pushy at times when we ordered. I had the veal and it was awful. The orders were messed up also and people got the wrong food.

The weather was good and it wasnt rough at all. We felt lucky we got out of Deans way in time. We mainly played black jack at the 5 dollar tables and had a great time. I also played the slots and won a couple hundred there. It was crowded in Key West because a Carnival ship was there. I kept feeling like I was in port and had to get back to the ship....lol..I had been there before but hubby had not so since we were staying in the keys for a few days after we went. He said it was very touristy...lol! I will download the pics today and get them on webshots as soon as possible. I think most kids will be in school when you go so it shouldnt be as bad as when we sailed. We still had a great time and will cruise Carnival again but the adult pool thing might make us think about going on some other lines at certain times of the year.

We normally would never travel at this time of year but my hubby works for the government and this year the vacations got messed up so that week was all that was open. Most of the kids were well behaved but on the last 2 sea days they were getting bored and starting to act up with throwing stuff, running and messing with the elavators, nothing major. We liked the Valor alot but liked Conquest better.

Yes there were tables for 2 all over the dining room. Our table was in the washington dining room and we had a table next to the window for 8.

We sailed on the Valor Aug 5th and experienced the same problems as you with the kids and pool. It really was annoying and enough to make me book with Princess in March. My husband and I thought Scarletts was overdone too. We are from NY but were not impressed by all the different courses and I actually felt ill afterward. Dessert selection was pathetic IMHO at Scarletts'. However, my sister in law and her family raved about it. Casino was very smokey but the worst was the Cigar club (obviously) and having to cut through it everytime we were lost (and that was alot:)

I did have a fridge as did both my kids. We were all on the Empress deck ...we had balcony rooms and kids had interior. Valor was a nice ship and the trip was indicative of the money we paid...We loved the itinerary and are so sad how the west carr was affected by Dean:( My adult kids loved the itineraries.

I was also on that cruise and we had the other corner balcony 7445. We loved the wrap around balcony, BUT we also had people through things off the back of the ship and it all landed on our balcony!! We had a great cruise though, with the exception of the no adult pool area though.

My frends have that cabin on my sailing. We have both corner cabins. Do You have any pictures?

I'll go up there and throw pizza at them, if they throw it down on me.

I'm confused....When I was on Valor last year, the aft pool was adult only, I think. Did they change it or was it just for that cruise, with lots of kids?
