Class of Carnival ships are like Fantasy, Spirit and Conquest, but sounds like you mean categories?

1A usually for 1 person but 2 can stay in them are the lowest, 4s are inside, 6s are outside with a window (doesnt open), 8s are balconys and 11s and 12s are the suites....with a few in between.

Whether you are referring to ship families (Fantasy, Spirit, Conquest), or cabin types (inside, ocean view, balcony, suite), preferences are very subjective.

As a rule of thumb, the more being charged the greater the number of people who like it.

Some people prefer Conquest class because the ships are bigger and generally newer. Others prefer much smaller ships like the Fantasy class vessels. Check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carnival_Cruise_Lines for details on each family/class.

Some prefer inside cabins since they are less expensive and one doesn't spend much time in them. Others prize balcony cabins for the private outdoor space they provide.

Personally any ship, any cabin if its mine its perfect.
