woodmill100 Posted September 1, 2007 #1 Share Posted September 1, 2007 We've booked to go to Alaksa in May. This cruise was easy to book. We're going with HAL because of their reputation in Alaksa and that they go to Glacier Bay which is an abosolute must for us. It doesn't really matter about everything else on the cruise as long as we saw that. However! We both have time off at the beginning of January and we've decided to go on a caribbean cruise (yippeee!). But where on earth do I start? It would be easy for me to say HAL again but part of me wants to experience another cruise line. We have to leave the UK on 5th January which means sailing on 6th January meaning we can book with Celebrity, Carnival (no thanks!), HAL, RCII and Princess. We're in our late 30's and enojoy good company, food and wine. If we see a show at night then great but we're just as happy having a late dinner followed by a night cap in our cabin. What we do like is excellent customer service as well as those little extras that make you feel special. We're fortunate that with the exchange rate at the moment, we can afford suite life. We're not bothered at all about the ports we see - we've never been before and really just need some R&R. I know you don't know us at all but given what I have said above, do you have any thoughts? Many thanks

RenieRaider Posted September 1, 2007 #4 Share Posted September 1, 2007 If you were more Adventurous, I'd say Royal Caribbean. You 'sound' like you are ready for Celebrity's SUITE Life!
#1TravelMom Posted September 1, 2007 #5 Share Posted September 1, 2007 We're also late 30's. We LOVE Princess. Lots to do, plenty of pools(freshwater), great food. We've been on 7 different cruise lines-Princess is our favorite-Especially Caribbean Princess and Crown Princess.
firefly333 Posted September 1, 2007 #6 Share Posted September 1, 2007 We did the Caribbean Princess and the Eastern Route. They also have some southern routes for more than 7 days on other cruise lines you might consider if you are coming from so far. I would even consider a B2B on the Caribbean Princess doing Eastern and Western. It was a step above the Princess Grand for sure. Both had MUTS but the CB had other best of breed. Like the sea food feast the first night and the extra dining anytime dining room for less wating.
