dfishner Posted September 3, 2007 #1 Share Posted September 3, 2007 We will be a party of 4 on NOS and was wondering if walkie talkies work on the ship? If so which brand worked the best. We decided that it would be a worthwhile investment to locate our other party and vice versa. Thanks...

sajeffc Posted September 3, 2007 #3 Share Posted September 3, 2007 We used them on our cruise on Rhapsody and they worked great. We used Midland Brand, but they all the name brands are good. We used the GRMS because fo the extended range. We were on Deck 2 forward and we could talk to our kids all the way back on Deck 11 in adventure ocean. If children are involved, counsel them as to the proper etiquette and let them know that loud beeps and tones do irritate others, so be considerate. We had no problems and they worked great! ArkieCruisin Posted September 4, 2007 #5 Share Posted September 4, 2007 We used Cobra walkie talkies and worked great for us. DW and I had one and our two DD had the other. Worked great for the times we were not together. Has a convenient belt clip.
RevSmith Posted September 4, 2007 #6 Share Posted September 4, 2007 They do brake up in certain areas...but can be very useful. Please remember your manners when using them and no one will look at you funny.
abitaturbodog Posted September 4, 2007 #7 Share Posted September 4, 2007 Also, put your name and cabin number on the walkie talkie just in cast they get forgotten.... My kids lose one each cruise and they've always been returned to the Purser's desk!
Trekker954 Posted September 4, 2007 #8 Share Posted September 4, 2007 I'll be using them agian on my third cruise. My only advice, so you don't annoy others, use them only during the day. Do not bring them to dinner and never, ever, ever to any of the shows.
