Check out the RCCL fleet. :) Midships on their newer vessels there's a "hump."

They are coveted because of their convenience to the stairs and elevators. On Radiance class ships, SOME of the balconies are a bit larger than others. On Voyager class, all rooms are the same--even on the convenient hump!

They are also coveted because the hump sticks out....so you can see all the way forward or back if you are right on the hump that sticks out furthest. Its being able to see all the way one direction at least that makes most want them imo....even more so than being close to elevators.
