watercruise Posted September 15, 2007 #1 Share Posted September 15, 2007 I read in oceania booklet that there is a 5% surcharge for casino chips in the casino..Is this true? does that mean when you cash 1000 dollars for chips they charge you 1050? and you start in the casino at a 50 dollar loss? Any answers would be appreciated. thanks
caribbeansun Posted September 15, 2007 #2 Share Posted September 15, 2007 If you charge it to your stateroom there is a 5% charge. If you lay down cash there isn't any charge.

rogfam Posted September 15, 2007 #4 Share Posted September 15, 2007 They do it to cover the service charge on the room credit card. If not, many people would simply use the interest free money for their vacation spending money. It would really be a interest free loan.

Thats exactly what was happening..people were going into the casino to get cash for the trip and not playing so the 5% went into effect.. take enough cash or travelers checks with you!!
