OCruisers Posted August 27, 2004 #2 Share Posted August 27, 2004 big al .... You found the right party boat for everything you want!! :D It's a very large Double-Deck Boat with lots of space. From the minute you board until the time you leave "Rum Punch" is flowing. (If you don't find it strong enough, you can add more from the "XXX proof" bottle! :p ) We understand the beach stop can vary. Ours was at Honeymoon Beach on Water Island. It was a pretty beach with white sand and clean warm water. We were there a little over an hour. Rum Punch was available for the thirsty! :D On the way back there was a live calypso band with steel drums -- A BIG PARTY! Some had more to drink than others  ... BUT everyone had a totally FUN TIME!!!! Happy Sailing! OCruisers :)
big al Posted August 27, 2004 Author #3 Share Posted August 27, 2004 O- Thanks,it sounds similar to a fiesta party boat we took with RCI in '96 in Cozumel..great time..we (4 of us) er,consumed a few more adult beverages than we should, then went to Carlos & Charlies, missed our 6 PM dinner because we all went back to our cabins and collapsed!!But,hey,it was our delayed honeymoon!! lostdart58 Posted August 27, 2004 #5 Share Posted August 27, 2004 Yes...... the Kon Tiki is a loud obnoxious party boat. Rum rum and more rum.................There is no other reason to go on it.............You will need that beach stop to sober up!!! It is about a three hour trip..........plenty of time to go shopping..
OCruisers Posted August 27, 2004 #6 Share Posted August 27, 2004 lostdart58 .... Exactly! That's what is good about it! The KonTiki does not claim to be anything except what it is -- A VERY FUN Party Boat! (No sobering-up at the beach. There's rum on the beach as well.) :D big al .... Yes, it's like The Fiesta in Cozumel. Both are lots of fun! Try not to miss dinner this time! :p The only times we have booked The KonTiki, other than thru the cruise ship, have been when we were there on land trips and the hotel always booked it for us. It's three hours and cost around $34 pp. If you have a choice, take the excursion in the afternoon -- it's more fun! Happy Sailing! OCruisers Posted June 25, 2005 #8 Share Posted June 25, 2005 Kaye .... We've been taking The Kon Tiki (every so often) in St.Thomas for over 20 years. It really does not change ... except for, maybe, the beach. Basically, the above will give you a good idea of what to expect. Hopefully, others will add their opinions as well! Happy Sailing!
