Has anything frightened you on a cruise?

When I was on a Carnival cruise there was domestic abuse going on in the room right next to my sister and me. We could hear a loud guy yelling and a woman crying or something and then we would hear things hit the wall. We ended up calling security three times before they came to break it up. In the morning the lady was crying in the hallway.

The next night the people on the other side(not the domestic abuse couple) were watching their television or doing something really loud and I woke up and said, "He's KILLING her, Carrie!" I was frightened! I felt bad for the woman.

Yeah, I'm a little worried about that!

I was totally serious!! :p It is frightening when you see those drinks add up!!!! Now I know why people take booze on board in their luggage...YIKES!! :D

actually now that you mention it, I did see a very drunk and belilgerant man being taken out of the casino while on EOS 4 years ago. I was just trying to enjoy my black jack, and this moron was totally drunk and out of control, making a huge scene. Good thing was that the whole thing lasted less than 2 minutes and he was removed. Kinda shook me up for a sec.

Ten foot waves during hurricane Jeanne and the Captain telling us we were going to be brought back to Fort Lauderdale a day early, where we would have to ride out the hurricane since our flight wasn't scheduled until Monday.

Fortunately they ended up closing Port Everglades, therefore the captain dropped us south and we were back to smooth sailing again (after 1/2 a day of 10ft waves and everyone getting sick everywhere!!) :( Our 7 day cruise turned into a 10 day cruise!!!!!

On the fourth sailing of the Brilliance of the Seas (Baltic cruise) my wife and I were in solarium when all of a sudden the ship listed big time, all the water in the pools came running out. My first thought was that we were going over. It scared the you know what out of almost everyone

It turned out that the captain went closer to an island he though we would all enjoy seeing and almost snagged some fishing boat nets. So he made a hard turn to avoid snagging the nets dragging the fishing boats along with us.

All is well that ends well but it sure gave us a scare

A few years ago in the Atlantic, a rogue wave had the effect of lifting the prow, which us cruisers then felt as a big drop (like from a roller coaster, although not as long), and a loud bang and 'hit' as we dropped back into the water. There was a moment of worry and wondering what was going on. Unfortunately, it didn't damage the computers and its tracking of our account, which is always scary.

The smokers with the oxygen bottles, and some of the bathing suits.

LMAO.........how true!!!

Mine scary moment has to be (as many others have already said) is getting those PAGES of charges on my seapass! Although, I will say on the Sovereign the print was smaller than our last one on the Adventure......unless my eyes have really taken a turn for the worse!

We have only been on 3 Cruises and no bad weather, but we did get into heavy waves out of Cabo, back to San Francisco. Talking to couple on Promenade and suddenly the sea disappeared as our Bow went up 10-13 feet.

Then from San Fran to Seattle they shut the doors to promenade as we were in heavy winds and seas, delaying us 2 hours.

I once saw a passenger play the Led Zepellin song entitled Stairway to Heaven on a kazoo while using his belly as a percussion instrument. Normally that would not have upset me, but his wearing a neon-colored speedo backwards during the performance was just frightening!

Almost the exact same thing happened to us too , the Captain had to " do a dog leg" to avoid fishing nets, it was so scary, i can just remember all of a sudden the sea appeared to rise on the one side as we listed right then it vanished and it was sky sky and more sky as we listed left.... not something id like to experience again!......... the captain did apologise immediatley and give an explaination for what had happened.

On the Radiance about 2am we heard the call ( I cant remember now if it was Bravo or something else but they called all to the windjammer)... Smelled smoke.. We were in JS1100 and there was a kitchen fire in the windjammer. The captain came on to say they were working on it and would update asap over the loudspeaker at 2am. It was tense 10 minutes or so before the captain came back on and said all was well and the fire was contained.

Scary on every cruise... There is always a speedo or two on board. It is scary, especially when they walk right by you. One guy looked like he had some animal in his speedo (large snake). Ok so I looked... He was popular with the ladies though! Got a kick out of that one all week long!
