I wish I could remember the first few days, it seems like it was so long ago. I know we hung out by the back pool on the sea days. Hit up the sports bar, casino, piano bar, disco, and aft bar in the evenings. Explored all the ports. I have to say that I loved all the ports, St. Marten, St. Lucia and St. Kitts. I spent a lot of time relaxing and eating and drinking, ugh.

I actually bought a little spiral notebook to use as a journal so I can write everything down, or else I know I'll forget it all. The old memory isn't what it used to be! :p

I was with a group of 11 and we all did different things. Some did excursions with Carnival and others did stuff on their own.

 

St. Marten - The Ragata (sp) and the catamaran. Some just went shopping and to the beach.

 

St. Lucia - Some booked with Serenity on their own. A few did the ziplining which they said was absolutely fantastic. Some of us did our own taxi tour and then a beach.

 

St. Kitts - we all did the water taxi to Mr. X's Shiggidy Shack.

 

I have to say I loved all three islands but in St. Kitts, the beach is REALLY ROCKY and the sand is REALLY HOT! Be warned! Bring water shoes.

I'm pretty sure they haven't been on the Miracle for a little while. Have you read any of the recent reviews? I think there's a different Filipino band.

There was a band from the Phillipines on the Victory a couple of years ago..they were called the Music Network and they played some pretty good classic rock...I was hoping that this might be the same band with a different name.....Dennis

Music Boardwalk and Music Unlimited are popular Phillipines rock and roll coverbands who play on Carnival ships(from my experience).........When I was on the Miracle last month it was Music Manila.....and they played some good tunes....they won't disappoint.

No not at all. The entertainment is free. They are just called cover bands.

I was on the Miracle back in May, and I am going on her again in Jan, she is by far the nicest ship I have ever been on, the service and cleaness of the ship is by far the best. She does have the eagle something award, which stated she is the best in the Carnival fleet....

 

She is well taken care of inside and out and so on...... I highly reccomand the Miracle to anyone, the best cruise I have ever been on...... :D :D

A cover band is a band that plays songs made famous by another band. Basically, they don't play any original music of their own, just a lot of well known songs. Which, when we're partying - that's what we want! Right!

Can't wait for our cruise! Once the holidays are over, we are at 5 months and counting!! WooHoo!!

Thanks so much for starting this board! I'm off on the Miracle on 1/2/08 (hi FFKampy and xrisman!). I have very much enjoyed reading this board and getting up-to-date on all things Miracle!

 

I think most of my questions have been answered, but I just wanted a couple of veteran's thoughts on this one... How strictly was the Adults Only pool enforced? Kids are great, just not for me, and I enjoy the relaxation and quiet of an adult pool. On most of my previous cruises, I found there to be many children in the hot tubs and I didn't feel as though I could enjoy them. I'm all for staying at the aft pool, but am wondering if the pollicy is enforced.

 

I understand it's a cruise with 2000 people, and that there are bound to be children, and I'm ok with that. Please don't flame! :D I am just wondering if I will be able to step away from it all if I choose to. Thanks for your replies!

There is one slight "problem" witht the Miracle aft adults pool.........the light up rainbow Marquis above the rear glass doors says kids pool. The aft is the adults area, but this causes some confusion in the beginning.....I had to 'splain it to my wife a couple of times.

On our sailing in June that area was adults only. The second day, hubby and I were laying out there and there were 2 kids in the pool. Security came over and told them that it was adults only and they had to leave. The kids didn't with no questions asked. Never saw any kids in that pool after that. Hopefully you won't have any when you go either. :)

With you going in Jan there should be very few children on board...there will be some around christmas...that's one reason we always cruise in Feb and October....there are usually less than 25 on our feb cruises.....Dennis

Thanks all for your responses! I was also thinking of the timing being pretty good for school vacations, as well, so I think we'll be ok.

I've started my pre-packing! Dragged everything I think I want to take out of the closet and piled it up on the bed. Doing laundry for other things I'll need to pack.

 

Unfortunately, my Roll Call members have been passing around a cold bug (tricky to do over the internet!), and I woke up feeling lousy. Started using the Zicam throat spray and took some Vit C. I have too much to do! I can't be sick!

 

Still, better now than next week! If I had waited until the day before we leave to get sick, I can't even express how upset I would be!!! :(

Any one have pics of Camp Carnival on the Miracle? and does anyone have Capers from the Miracle sailing out of New York? My 3 kids 11, 7, 5 are worried there won't be enough to do on a cruise. Even though we have explained it several times...they don't believe us.
