Hello Sandi, I am traveling south on the Miracle for the 3rd time. I was wondering if you or anyone remembers if the cabin Door is Metal? I have a door decoration and need to know if I should bring tape?

The doors are NOT metal.....You will need some type of double sided tape or fun tac.

Not sure if this is the right place, or if it was asked already, Does anyone know if the Casino on the Miracle is open all the time or does it close in the wee hours of the morning?

This probably extends to most casinos in the fleet. They are usually only open while at sea, and usually start around 9-10 am and stay open very late, usually until the crowds die down. I have seen them open as late as 4 am.

I'll be onboard this coming Tuesday! Last cruise before drydock. Hopefully the propulsion holds out just a little bit longer! :)

Hi Everyone!

We are thinking about booking the southern caribbean itinerary on the Miracle and I was wondering what were everyone's views of the decor.. I have heard it's very different from the other Carnival ships. Any opinions?

The main dining room has a grape theme. There are purple grapes all over. It's looks odd, but you'll get use to it.

We just booked the Miracle tonight (western itinerary) . . . I was surprised that a cabin on deck 4 (4194) with an obstructed view (view of the lifeboats w/french doors) is a category 4F inside cabin. We only budgeted for an inside so I was happy to book this cabin at a great past guest rate.

Looking forward to the Miracle . . . as it seems like an alltime favorite to many. We have loved all of the cruises we've been on.

I’m on the Miracle right now. It’s really not so bad. Keep in mind that Carnival ships have the décor al based on some theme. The Miracle is Fictional Icons. In fact we just received a flyer last night that describes the different areas throughout the ship. The main dining room is the Bacchus which was the Greek god of wine. And once you are in the dining room you’ll see the “grape lights” are supposed to look like grapes on a vine. By that I mean you see the vines that then have the grapes on them.

This flyer has some interesting info on it about the bases for the different areas on the ship, so I’ll scan it and post it on my webshots page once I get back.

Really the décor is nice one you know what the theme is and that Carnival really goes somewhat over the top to design with that theme in mind. There sure is a lot to look at all around the ship! :)

DH and I are booked on this itinerary Nov 4 on Miracle. I can't wait to get back to her. We sailed an Eastern itinerary on Miracle in July and loved it. She's a pretty ship. The decor can be a bit over the top in places, but, what the hell, it's vacation who cares, over the top is fun. No one is telling anyone it's a decor we would use at home. Just go with it. It's fun. The grapes aren't that bad. And there are areas that are down right pretty. I LOVED Gatsby's Garden. A quite "garden" retreat to sit and think or read or just relax. A very nice ship! Can't wait to get back.

Just because I know what the theme is doesn't mean I like the decor! :p

My issue with Farcus' designs is not the colors or the fact that they might be "over the top." It's the complete and total EXCESS of the use of whatever to get his theme across.

It is really necessary to have the little Horatio busts every 4' in the buffet? Is it really necessary to have 800 purple grapes and 200 silver goblets in the dining room to get the Bacchus theme across? It is really necessary to have dozens of those weird, pointy silver thingies in Frankie and Johnnie's?

That's my problem with him. It isn't the colors (because I've been on 3 ships (Elation, Glory & Fascination) that didn't have obnoxious color schemes). It's the excess. I would "get" the whole Bacchus theme with about 1/10th the grapes and goblets! I would "get" the Horatio's theme with only a dozen little busts strategically placed!

Yes, there are areas that are lovely. I just think the Miracle is a lovely ship and think she would be even more so had she been decorated differently. Photos I've seen of her sister ships make them all look very nice. I just wish she had followed a little more in their style.

Won't let any of it interfere with my enjoyment of my cruise. But I do think that an otherwise beautifully designed ship could've been much more beautifully decorated.

I thought that all areas of the ship were very original and looked great. Although I have only been on four ships, it's definitly my favorite so far.

I think the Miracle is my favorite of the SPIRIT CLASS.

Yes, even the dining room. :p

Everyone has their own opinion and taste.

The Mad Hatter's Ball was my favorite decorated room on the ship. And my second favorite is the supper club, Nick and Nora's with the NYC skyline.

This thread has been quiet for a while, I had to bring it back! I enjoy reading all the different things people have to say about the Miracle!

Just a few more weeks and we'll be back on board again! Getting Antsie! Keeping my fingers crossed that we see some of the same great staff as the last time! Hopefully not all of them jumped ship!

Of the four Carnival cruises I've taken, I truly enjoyed sailing on the Miracle (3/13). The ship was SPOTLESS and for the most part, the staff was super friendly. The ship won some award not too long ago........ scored a perfect 100!

I would not hesitate to sail on her again!
