crusing4fun Posted September 27, 2007 #1 Share Posted September 27, 2007 Are there things to do withing walking distance from the ship or should you take a tour? What's in the area where the ship docks?
texancruzer Posted September 27, 2007 #2 Share Posted September 27, 2007 Well you didnt really say what "things" you are looking for so here is my tip: First you need to thoroughly check out this link..... it goes to a website put together by another cc'er for all to use. There are other links within this site for tons and tons of information. www.langland.org/cruises/sanjuan.asp You will be getting off the ship into Old San Juan. This area is approximately 15 square blocks. It was originally completely surrounded by a huge wall constructed by the Spanish in the 1500's. El Morro and San Cristobal were 2 forts built within this walled city area to protect the city. They are pretty neat to visit..... as well as quite a few other sites within the area. The whole "old" town area has parks, plazas, shopping, museums, and much more. Since this is a "harbor" area you must go slightly outside of this area for a beach. Condado, Isla Verde and Ocean Park will work. Anyway.... the key is to keep researching. Good luck.
