laddcalcagno Posted September 28, 2007 #1 Share Posted September 28, 2007 Is there a Formal night? I'm looking to go with a friend of mine in April and I'm curious if we'd have a formal night. It would be her first cruise and I want to tell her what to expect. I've heard there aren't formal nights on the short cruises. Thanks!

kittymom65 Posted September 28, 2007 #3 Share Posted September 28, 2007 The second night (Nassau day) is formal night, but in my experience, people don't really dress up the way they do on longer cruises. A little black dress will probably have you amongst the dressier people there.
karena1 Posted September 28, 2007 #4 Share Posted September 28, 2007 I totally agree. You will see everything from very casual to dressy. While we always do the formals/tux for 7 nighters, we never do for the 3 nighter-just don't want to pack all that extra stuff for a short cruise. This year I just wore a little black/cream/orange halter dress and DH just wears a silk shirt/silk pants like he does for other non-formal night. We still go and eat in the regular dining room. Perfectly acceptable. Pretty much laid back on the 3 nighter so don't get to stressed about it. You will see lots of variety in the dress on formal night. Gator0178 Posted September 28, 2007 #5 Share Posted September 28, 2007 As posted earlier the formal night is the 2nd night while in Nassau. I just sailed the Sovereign 9/7/07 and here is a recent review that may help. http://www.cruisecritic.com/memberreviews/memberreview.cfm?EntryID=32506
