Being a Spa "demonstrator" on embarkation day

Recommended Posts

This will be the first time that I can get on the ship early since I'll be driving to the port. Can someone tell me how I could be chosen as a spa demonstrator (ie the person laying on the table getting a massage or a seaweed treatment) during the open house on embarkation day? What time do they choose the folks? How long do you lay there saying "HI" and getting your picture taken while green with goop? Will the "free" treatment be worth it or should I just be a passenger and do something else for a few hours that day?

My DW was chosen a few years ago on the Explorer. Basically, she didn't do anything to "get chosen." We always go to the spa first thing to get the times we want. They asked her when we made our appointments if she would do it. She was there for the entire time of the open house so it was several. She seemed to enjoy it although she said the treatment she had done wasn't always confortable to lie in for a long time.
