1125Pincessbride Posted October 11, 2007 #1 Share Posted October 11, 2007 Does anyone have any unique ideas for Birthday celebrations aboard the ships? We have friends celebrating while we are sailing and we're looking for ideas to surprise them ! We have already ordered them breakfast in bed and have birthday garland for the door. cb at sea Posted October 12, 2007 #2 Share Posted October 12, 2007 Most cruiselines have cakes that can be ordered and delivered at dinner. That always makes for a "party" atmosphere!
ger_77 Posted October 12, 2007 #3 Share Posted October 12, 2007 You could surprise them with a dinner reservation in one of the specialty dining rooms. Or you could find a shore excursion they would like and book it for them. See if your cruise line has cocktail cards or wine cards - they make nice gifts. Smooth Sailing! :) :) :)
GalOverCs Posted October 12, 2007 #4 Share Posted October 12, 2007 You can become friendly with thier room steward and ask to be let in, then you can continue your decorating to the inside of the room. Or fill the bathroom with balloons, they aren't that big after all!

GalOverCs Posted October 14, 2007 #6 Share Posted October 14, 2007 Love the balloon idea!!, THANKS ! You're Welcome! I did it to my husbands bedroom when we were first dating... I highly suggest just doing the bathroom.. and recruiting a second pair of lungs!
#1TravelMom Posted October 15, 2007 #7 Share Posted October 15, 2007 My daughter(16 at the time) made a small sign "Today's my Birthday!" and gently patted him on the back to stick it to his shirt. He caught on after the 4th random person told him Happy Birthday. I'm not suggesting this idea, just thought I'd relay our little trick on my husband. He's always playing tricks on us - we still owe him.
cruise_lover Posted October 16, 2007 #8 Share Posted October 16, 2007 Find a print shop near your home and ask them for a plain sheet of white paper large enough to cover the outside door. Write a message on it asking everyone who passes to leave a message wishing your friends a birthday greetings (along with their names and where they are from). Just hang a Sharpie attached to a string from the door knob so people won't have to look for a pen to write with.
