Skating on board?

On the ships that have an ice pad are guests allowed to go skating?

yes they do offer it - it's only during certain times however. It's listed in the cruise compass.

We were on Mariner last week - the times for open skating were in the afternoon of the 1st sea day and the last sea day. You just show up, sign a waiver, get some skates and go. You do need to wear long pants and bring socks - and I'd bring crew socks, since the skates are boots....

it was fun, although the ice wasn't the best.

we were on Liberty and this was available, but I certainly am not a good skater on land...so definatly wasnt doing it on a ship:D

On Liberty, they even offerred skating lessons - one class for children, one for adults. :)

The ice is usually pretty beat up but it's fun to say "I ice skated on a cruise ship"
