Beyondships Posted October 16, 2007 #1 Share Posted October 16, 2007 I was recently on Veendam and have assembled some photos and comments. http://www.beyondships.com/Veedam-Profile.html I was impressed by the ship's sophistication and good taste. In the hopefully not too distant future, I will post my conversation with Captain Schoonderbeek. I hope you find this interesting.

jtl513 Posted October 16, 2007 #5 Share Posted October 16, 2007 A very nice presentation! Thank you. :) It brought back many pleasant memories. I was surprised to read that the lower dining room will be used for traditional dining, as originally that was planned to be the As You Wish level. venicecruiser Posted October 16, 2007 #6 Share Posted October 16, 2007 Your very nice photos brought back some happy memories of the transat I did in April on Veendam. I'll be back onboard 11/4/07 and am very much looking forward to it. Thanks for sharing! Claudia

GraceNWill Posted October 17, 2007 #8 Share Posted October 17, 2007 We will be on the Jan 6th 2008 cruise from Tampa and are looking forward to this lovely ship. Last September we went on our first "mega-ship" and found it to be lacking - more like a floating hotel with icecapades and rock climbing. We have been on smaller ships such as the RCCL Nordic Empress and the Princess Regal Princess and enjoy them more than the larger ships. Years ago, before the Norway became a junk heap, we enjoyed two cruises on her. She was so unique, with little nooks and crannies, beautiful artwork from the 60s and original woodwork in many of the suites - it was fun just exploring. We are looking with anticipation to wandering around the Veendam and discovering her artwork and hidden treasures. Thanks so much for the photos! Beyondships Posted October 17, 2007 Author #10 Share Posted October 17, 2007 Thank you for all the kind comments. I have just added copies of a menu and a daily program to the Veendam profile page. http://www.beyondships.com/Veedam-Profile.html
Deb C. Posted October 18, 2007 #11 Share Posted October 18, 2007 Thanks again, Beyondships! That was Oct. 17th actual activities page! I was rather disappointed to see only 1 trivia contest all day and night. Sure hope we can talk the activities staff in having extra trivia contests during our sailing in a couple weeks! Do you have any idea who is onboard as the activities staff at this time? The menu looks good, too!! Deb
