Ocean Players Club - Perks?

Ok, I just went online and tried to sign up and it wouldn't let me. I even went into the ready to join link. It just told me that I needed to see the casino host, when I went on my cruise and she would sign me up. I wanted to sign up ahead of time and then to let them know when my husband and I would be cruising (which is Nov. 4th, 2007). Did I do it wrong?

Well, I'm certainly not a high roller. I play the slots, but don't spend hours and $$$$ in there.

I did register and tell them when I was sailing.

I don't even know what the casino host should look like! When I joined on my last cruise, they offered no drinks. Just signed me up.

Do I just walk up to someone and say, "Hi, I'm xxxx and I'm a member of the Ocean Players Club!" and hope they ask me if I'd like a cocktail? ;)

I received a photo coupon, Champagne and Chocolate covered strawberries in my cabin.

I introduced myself to the casino host and she offered me a free drink which was brought to me by one of the casino cocktail waitresses

I don't spend 4 hours a day in the casino, but I spend $50 a day. Easily. I go through those quarters pretty quickly! :o

OK, well, I'm not going to get too worried about it. If they want to give me gifts or a drink, I'll certainly accept them. If they don't, I'll still play the slots!

Go to the home page on click on About the Club at the top, then click on membership and benefits and it will give you the breakdown.

Thank you for the suggestion. When I did that all I found was "Slot players may also receive complimentary beverages while playing, free gifts and other onboard benefits dependant upon their level of play" and "Table players may receive complimentary beverages while playing, free gifts, and other onboard benefits dependant upon their level of play."

I was hoping to get some idea of when these perks kicked in.

last time I cruised, I played alot of Caribbean Poker. The pit boss took my S and S card and "graded" it or something. I was not a member of the OP club...will that show if I join now?

call them up give them your last booking number and details of your next cruise and see how you get on,

let me know how you get on

All I did was go to the website and then clicked on "cruising again" - Put in all of my info and put in 9 zeros for the membership number. I got an e-mail within a few days stating that I was added to their guest list for my cruise.

I just got off the Miracle's CTN this morning. I went to the website at the beginning of this week and filled in the info. They e-mailed me that I was added to the OPC guest list. When I arrived in my cabin I found a plate of strawberries, a pen and a coupon for pictures. I am not a big gambler. I like to play roulette and they did not card. I played with the same $40 for 2 hours-had a great time. Lost another $40.00 at the slots and entered the slots tournament. Lost another $40 at the craps table the next day while waiting for my turn in the slots tourney. I watched people drop this much money in 5 minutes and then pull out more. I really don't know why they give me anything, but I do appreciate it! I have no idea what my OPC number is but I do have one-I received it in the mail after coming in second in a slots tournament 4 years ago. I made sure that I met the Casino host yesterday to thank him for the generous gifts. Fill out the info and see what you get. If you get a gift it will be a pleasant surprise.

I just went online and signed up. I assume they will send me an email with my registration number. The next step (according to the website) is to THEN let them know when my next cruise will be. I never realized I had to sign up for the Oceans Club. As soon as I get my OPC number I will contact them.

Just curious, you were able to sign up for OPC online? When tried the site said online signup wasn't available and that you have to be on the ship. Thank you.

Our Ocean Players Club Player Development Coordinators are available to assist you with all of the above services. They can be contacted by page at any time or by telephone at 1 888 OPC CLUB (672 2582) Monday to Friday during normal business hours

Thank you for the link to the OPC. I just sent in my information for our January 2008 cruise on the Spirit.

And I LOVE 3 card poker! Last weekend, at a local casino.......I got a straight flush.....and had $20 on each of the 3 bets. On 'pairs plus', a straight flush pays 40 to 1. You know I left there happy!!! Brought it all home and put that cash in my 'cruise cash stash' fund!:p

You all have a great weekend!

I played three card poker about two weeks ago out here. The lady next to me and I got straight flushes on the same hand...WOW!! The dealer said they had never seen that before...

This program sounds interesting, so I went to their website to read up on it. I see there are 4 levels of membership based on the ammount of play over a 24 month period. What I could not find was the breakdown of the type of perks to expect per level.

Without necessarily asking how much you gamble, could any of you provide some insight into what to expect at each level. IE, when I was an Ocean Player, I didn't get any free drinks, but I got a tote, etc....

Just trying to get an idea of what level of service to expect. I guess put another way, how do these comp programs compare to tradional Vegas casinos?

I did not take advantage of this on my first cruise, I hope to on the second!

I'm up over 25,000 points (after the Sept 24th cruise) but still haven't gotten a clear answer on exactly what the benefits are of different levels of play. On my last cruise I was given $100 casino credit, free drink every night in the casino, bottle of wine, $15 photo coupon, choc covered strawberries and a tote bag full of goodies. I've got another $100 credit coming on my Nov cruise but I'm not sure if getting to the 25,000 point level will bring any added goodies......will come back on and let everyone know.

When I was playing the BJ Tourny on the Fantasy, a guy hit on the 3-card with a $100 bet out. His payout was over $4500. It seemed strange watching all the black chips being counted out and then all the green chips and then part of the red chips.

My DH played a bit on our last which was also our first Carnival cruise. I went to the site and registered and used my past quest number. I did get an email. Not sure what we will get if anything but anything is better than nothing. lol

My husband has a PokerPro Account Card that he got on the last cruise. Does anyone know exactly what this card is for?

Here's what I found on Carnival Poker Pro Accounts:

Poker Pro poker table - It has no dealer or cards - the game is played similar to on-line poker games. There are touch screens at individual seats from which you can see your cards, bet, raise, check or fold. The larger display in the middle of the table shows the board (common cards) in Hold-Em. To play, you activate an account at the cashier cage by depositing the cash you want to play with. ($60 minimum for $3-$6 Texas Hold-Em). At the table, you insert your card into the individual slots on top of the display screen to access your account and away you go. Cards can be reloaded or cashed in at the cashier's cage.

Just curious, how did they know to give you a free drink? I tried introducing myself as some have suggested, and they just looked at me kinda funny.:D :o

I believe you have to play a lot in the casino. I was usually the first person playing at the table of game of choice and often closed it down. After I started to play lots of other people played. A few times a supervisor in the casino bought me a drink.
