Lobster Salad, huh?

Look what I found!

Came across a leaflet from that Lobster Alive place

right next door to Boatyard.

I'll try to type out the best, most pertinent bits for you...

-----------------

Our big Caribbean Spiny Lobster is caught by Scuba divers

in the nearby Grenadine islands..

(that's near St.Vincent, 100 mi. West of Barbados)

..and flown in alive by small private plane, to our large wholesale distribution tank.

We are centrally located at the international yacht anchorage of historic Carlisle Bay.

Offering adequate parking and wheelchair access.

Lobster Alive is very entertaining for kids,

and for big kids,too!

Why not make a day of it?!

Beach Lounges and umbrellas are available.

Sample Restaurant Menu.

(prices in Barbados Dollars)

Lobster Bisque .............. $25

Conch Samosa's ............ $20

Pickled Sea Cat

(that's Calamari for you guys!) ...... $20

From the Tank. by weight..S,M,L,XL ... $85-135

(that'll be live lobster)

Catch of the Day ....... $40

N.Y.Steak ................ $50

Lobster Salad! ......... $55

Assorted Salads ........ $28

We are a small restaurant.

Reservations are important.

Telephone 435-0305

-----------------------------------------

Prices in Barbados Dollars are easily divided by 2,

to arrive at the U.S.Dollar equivalent.

Thus the Catch of the Day at Bds.$40 is really US$20.

Wife and I may have lunch there tomorrow,

so stand by for pics of Art and his lobster tank.

Hope this proves interesting and enticing.

Art's a cool guy - an Aussie!

Plays piano in our local Dixieland Jazz Band,

which often plays at Lobster Alive during the day

on busy cruise days.

And the beach is fabulous, really.

You'll see.

This pic I'm attaching was taken

about a half-mile up the beach from Art's place

Well...the Wife had the Lobster Salad, pronounced it delicious

and further, said they didn't scrimp on the lobster content!

I had the Catch of the Day, which turned out to be Ballyhoo,of all things

normally a bait-fish, and which I'd never had before

despite living here for fifty-six years,now..

so that was a pleasant surprise!

The chips that came with the fish were delicious

- looks like they roll them in a granulated cheese or something,

before frying them!

---------------------------

Yes, there's a shower, and their beach umbrella's are BIG ones.

The beach is great,too.

Look at the pics. Read the sign.

Free Rum Punch with every rental?! - how do you beat that?

That's my fish and chips in the foreground,

her Lobster Salad is up at top of the pic.

in 15years of being here, I've never once stopped and had food there (know the beach well, as you well know), but never had the lunch.

maybe I'll talk the hubby and kids into going there once of these days.. (or just the hubby for lunch.. leave the kids in school).

sounds really good

Art just wrote me to say Sunday Lunch is usually good,

and that I'd like it...yuh think?

He's spruced up the place quite well,

since we were (previously)last there oohh...3-4 years ago

and it looks real nice,now.

Plus he's got that outside bit too, under an awning

where you can Lunch with pink sand between your toes..!

(see my pic)

Parking is close by, or even across the street,

and they make a decent Lime Squash, not too sour, not too sweet!

Yes, go. the kids will do the beach thing,

after checking out Art's huge Lobster Tank..

while you and Elvis suck down beer.

Have you anything else better to do, come Sunday?
