If I were CEO of RCCL I would......?

Recommended Posts

I think we should all draft a letter to the CEO but you go first. Let us know what you say and we can all back it up.;) Maybe if he gets enough letters in a certain time frame he will actually look into the suggestions of those who help make him rich!

LOL I see you want me to be the guinea pig huh? As soon as I can formulate my thoughts I will re-write the entire letter on here and ya'll can print it out with your own names...lol:D

Make RCI give me my choice of a Royal Suites every six months so that I could do all my work from one ship in that suite. They would also have to include special dinners for when I became board with the food, many spa treatment, because of all the hard work I was doing and I would also need a personal trainer so that I would stay healthy. This way I would also get a feel for the ship and how it was operating.

So be it, you insulted the poor! That says something about you.

No, you are confused again. A higher percentage of poor smoke than non-poor. This factual comment casts no judgment positive or negative on the poor.

Let's see - I would do a split option pricing.

Drinkers vs. Non-drinkers

Drinkers would pay $100 to $200 more a cabin but drinks would be included (Pay $5 extra for the special cups)

Non drinkers would pay less but soda/juice packages would be automatic.

If that was not workable I would add a fee (roughly $200) for people who wanted to be able to bring drinks on board (alcholic or non). Those that paid would be welcomed on board with coolers in hand. Those that did not pay would be welcome to purchase the juice and soda packages or pay at the bar. No more complaining or arguements about "sneaking" certain types of drinks on board.

Justcat, such a thing already exists. It is for large groups (I believe that the minimum is 50 adult passengers, and must include all passengers in a cabin). The cost is $50 per person per day. RC doesn't seem to want to do it for a paltry $100 - $200 per cabin. Actually, it really IS paltry. That amount is peanuts. I can't blame them for wanting to get $50 per day per person. But I would never sign up for this.

If I were the CEO I would:

5) Require all Main DR waiters to be well-stocked with Savory Bites in their baskets.

6) Have a Vidalia Onion tart, a Portofino tiger shrimp/risotto, cold strawberry soup, Johnny Rockets apple-pie-a-la-mode and a BBC delivered to my office every day for lunch.[/url]

:D BRILLIANT! :D

Funny ... I was just saying this to DH yesterday ...

If I were CEO of RCI, I would ...

Put the Serenade in the Monarch's place, when the Monarch moves to FL. Since the Serenade holds less pax than the Monarch, I believe RCI would have no trouble filling the cruises (in the same way that the Monarch goes out full on most sailings). In addition, since the Serenade has some amenities that the Monarch doesn't have (Solarium, Concierge Lounge and, for DH, a soft-serve ice cream station), I believe that the pax would not balk at paying more for the same itinerary. Lastly, the Serenade could be used to do year-round Hawaiian cruises (Eastbound, Westbound, Circles), say, once a month.

That would be my little way of saying, "Yes, we love the West Coast Royal-Loyals, too!" :D ... A girl can dream, can't she????

If I were CEO I would:

Hire Mr Goldstein as VP so he could carry out my requests and run RCL since I would not know what I was doing.

Have Mr Goldstein rotate though the fleet and make recomendations based on his "site visits" (as mentioned before). Implement Mr Goldstein's recommendations at once.

Initiate all the changes that CC posters have asked for on this thread. The CC poster that recommended any implemented change would get 50% off their next cruise including all their other discounts plus generous OBC.

Definately big time entertainment every night. My "Beatlemania Live" Group would be booked for every available date.

Big Screen just released movies for children and adults on deck.

Free sodas must have Pepsi and Coke. Tear up the contracts.

Fruit punch and lemonade available 24 hrs a day just like Carnival serves. (I really liked it).

Fresh salads available for lunch and dinner with every imaginable topping on a checklist that you would choose from when ordering.

Cruise Critic posters would get first choice on cabin selections before opening them up to the public.

I would get rid of the rude CVPs and give the rest a raise and intensive training so we would get consistent accurate information. (as mentioned before)

After we made all the desired changes, I would resign with full pension, stock options and free cruising for life. I would recommend that Mr Goldstein be reassigned his CEO postion immediately with back pay.

Laura

I would have signs made for the Windjammer restaurants that say

"Don't clear this table, I have merely gone to get something else" so that you don't come back and find your food gone...... again!:(

They have them on Princess, I think they were the best idea.

:o If I were CEO for a day on RCI, I would have laundromats on ships that cruise the longer cruises, 14 days or more.

I would have wonderful shows, many of them are.

I would alternate the menus for those of us who cruise several times each year.

I would install a foolproof ventilation system in the casino.

I would have a Concierge Lounge on all ships.

I would enforce the rules to everyone, if they do not want to dress for a formal dinner they can go to the Windjammer or one of the Specialty Resturants.

I would reduce the price for playing Bingo.

But above all, I will have fun on any cruise whatever the circumstances may be.:o

Looking at it from both a business and customer side, because you can't have one without the other.

1. Host more "specialty cruises". By that I mean, if a smoker wants to go on a cruise they should be able to go on a cruise ship that caters to their tastes. By the same token, as a non-smoker let me be on a ship that has no smokers. Of course, once a ship becomes a smoking ship it will be a smoking ship until it goes to drydock.

2. There are plenty of cruisers that would love to go on a one week trip that offered no kids, or no seniors. How about a singles cruise? I am not talking about part of the ship, I am talking about the whole thing. It would sure make the choices for entertainment more palatable to everyone. The younger set may already be going to my competition, because Disney can offer their characters to keep my kids occupied, etc.

3. Host "gourmet cruises" for those who really live for the food. They can pay a few more dollars and have the food reserved for the Chops/Portofino crowd every night they are onboard. Some say that is going back to how it used to be.........so.........your point is?

4. Have a little more variety in the ports to visit. There doesn't need to be such a strict Eastern/Western/Southern Caribbean itinerary. Mix them up every once in a while. Would it be a terrible thing if I had two of my ships in the same port at the same time........if they were both full?

I would move out of San Juan. I would still do a Southern Caribbean just not out of there. They are forced to fill the ships with fire sales. When they do that it seems like the ship has more rude people on it.

I would offer passangers the option of having a "wet bar" set up in thier suite for an additional fee. It would not be unlimited drinks but you could chose which spirits you wanted in it from a list. The price would depend on what was selected. Once you consumed the all the alcohol that would be it. After that you would have to purchase drinks from the bar like everyone else....just and idea.

Only 2 things for me:

1.) Offer a better variety of ports in the Caribbean - too many ships doing duplicate itineraries.

2.) Offer more perks or incentives for returning travelers and groups in the C&A program. People have so many choices these days. I would want to keep them loyal to RCCL.

Here's another "yes" to smaller ships. Apparently, I am not the only one who thinks that bigger is not necessarily better.

I think we should print this thread out (when in winds down) and mail it to the CEO.

That is a great idea! Maybe if everyone that posted on this thread prints out a copy and mails it to him he would at least take the time to read one. Now all we need is the address to his office?

Read CC on a daily basis to see how the people really feel about the product that RCI is putting out.

Many Guest Relations Managers have said that the cruise line reads CC often.

Bigger is not always better!

And for this perfect reason alone, I request more Radience Class ships. They're inbetween .... they're a compromise.

1. Take back management of the liquor store

2. Enforce rules. (agreeing with Sue :))

3. Allow the combining of all possible discounts and OBCs.

4. Give a price break or other perk for booking back to back cruises.

7. Put a concierge lounge on all Vision class ships.

8. Build two more Radiance class ships.

9. Allow three bottles of wine per cabin per week to be brought on board; $5 fee if consumed in cabin, $15 corkage fee in dining room.

I completely agree with you, my dear! 1000% !!!

These are awesome ideas!

I also like the idea of a "foofoo drink card". You can buy the package of 10 drinks, and each time you buy a cocktail, the bartender reduces the amount by 1 on your account, eliminating the need to carry around a seperate "drink" card (like a starbucks card).

And for Carol's great comment about us not looking at this from a CEO perspective, ...... ok .... I'll give her that ... I wasn't really doing that.

So .... if I were CEO ... I would listen to the Monarch cheerleaders and not take the cash-cow ... I mean "3/4 day cruises" out of the Los Angeles Market! :D

I actually have my own that I take with me.

And my sign for my deck chair has a metal clasp pin attached to it, so I can attach it to the chair itself. Its Laminated, so an expo marker works great for filling in the blank on the chair that I've left for the ____________ and will be back in _________ minutes :)
