I posted a generic question yesterday and got no replies.... My friend wants to go whale watching on our cruise. We leave Sept. 5th Serenade. Will she be able to see whale this time of the year? She wants to go but doesn't want to pay the price if chances are small of not seeing whales. Also there is so much other stuff to do. Thanks Sue

Check with Orca Enterprises in Juneau. They could probably give you whale info for this time of year. We went on their tour - with Capt. Larry - in May and saw humpback whales. It was wonderful and I highly recommend them.

I went this same time 2 years ago and saw plenty of whales.

Yes- you are "IN SEASON" for whales. Have your friend plan the excursion. I assume you are referring to Juneau, but Sitka will also have good viewing and Icy Strite- but verify this- of the touring options there.
