India Visas

Recently, my wife and I had to get visas for India. The process for obtainng the visas was recently changed effective 10/1 of this year. In the United States, the India Consulate outsourced the front end processing of the visas. We were a little concerned that this new process would have start up problems but it did not. From what I can tell the outsourced firm reviews the application and the passport to ensure that all is in order and then delivers them to the consulate for the actual visa. We were very impressed with the process. And, once the outsource company received our passports and applications we could track the progress on their web site until the visas were issued and the passports sent back out. It only took a couple of days and I really liked their tracking system. So, kudos for a process that works well.
