cruznut1111 Posted November 18, 2007 #3 Share Posted November 18, 2007 Do you know how lucky you are to have pier 66 as your locii? It is such a beautiful site.... and a beautiful sight! To your west is Bainbridge Island and behind it the Olympic mountains. To your direct north, the Edgewater Hotel, a famous site since the Beatles fished off the balcony of their room. South is Mt Rainier ( did you notice it could either be "Ran Ear" or a description of how much more rain we receive than the rest of the world?) Directly east is a very nice hotel- Marriott? and a parking structure. Behind it, a block or so, is the Pike Place Market and a block east of that is Nordstrom and the lovely Westlake Center. South you will find the aquarium all the other lovely things along the waterfront. Go down to pier 52 and you can have a lovely ride to Bainbridge Island and back for less than $7 a person. Enjoy your time in Seattle, but never forget the prime rule - ALWAYS SAY "IT RAINS ALL THE TIME!!!"
CRUZIN TOM Posted November 18, 2007 #4 Share Posted November 18, 2007 Forget the Rain part. It is overcast and drizzles a lot. Heck charleston SC gets more rain per year than Seattle......:)
cruznut1111 Posted November 18, 2007 #5 Share Posted November 18, 2007 Forget the Rain part. It is overcast and drizzles a lot. Heck charleston SC gets more rain per year than Seattle......:) Quiet! " It Rains. It rains ALL the time. If you have found beautiful weather here, it has been a fluke. If you had stayed an extra week it would have be gray, cold, rainy and miserable. Don't think it is lovely all the time. You would not like to live here. Do not encourage other folks to move here. When you wake up from this hypnotic session, you will only remember that you only want to be in Seattle for weeks at the most." 3-2-1:p
Cruise_More_Often Posted November 18, 2007 #6 Share Posted November 18, 2007 No one has mentioned that it is right downtown! The other terminal is out in the boonies (that's the working pier area) south of town.
Cruise_More_Often Posted November 18, 2007 #7 Share Posted November 18, 2007 :D I just figured out how to add images that someone can actually see. Here's Seattle, as taken from an aft mini-suite on the Sun while docked at Pier 66 on a sunny day :
