Aplmac - I have been on these boards for months and you have about convinced me to go with Accra. One question. I have never seen you mention anything about Bar Kan'ei. Their chairs are free if you eat lunch there. Are we better off skipping the lunch fare for something else along the beach where we would have to rent the chairs??

Free Chairs....Hello Fellow Cruiser....
Yeaahh free chairs, but more realistically

already-costed in to the price of your overpriced lunch? :D

Bar Kanei is down at the quiet Eastern end of the beach,

where not much goes on.

If you like that, then this is your place!

It's a pleasant enough place and you should consider going there. ;)

Hey Kjacruiser!!! I can't wait to get away from work and sit on a sandy beach. :D

Aplmac - thanks. I did notice that their prices weren't on the menus. Must equate to too much money. I just have to remember where Chicken George is so I can steer clear!

I did notice that their prices weren't on the menus. ===> Ding! 3 red flags just popped up (out of a possible 5)

Must equate to too much money. ===> The poor guy has a horrendous rent to pay..

I just have to remember where Chicken George is

so I can steer clear! ===> His snack shack is quite clearly and proudly marked!

Maybe you can stop by and have a drink, rather than do lunch and base your whole day there

but people who do go there for the day have a good time

even if it is a bit pricey.

This is his quiet Eastern end of the bay

Hey Beach Bum-Miami Beach is nice, I hung out there once with some locals. It reminded me of the Jersey Shore-beach party atmosphere, thick sand-not the smooth powdery stuff like Rockley, very wide.

If you only have a few hours to spend-go to accra!

What's a good spot to rent chairs and have lunch at Accra?

Both will become self-evident and obvious within about 10 mins.

It's pretty much right in the middle of the beach.

The chair guys chill out under the shade trees

and local-style lunch may be had either from the cluster of snack shacks

- or from the Chefette fast-food place, just across the street.

And no.. I have no shares/interest in any of these operations. :D
