azgkrudi Posted December 1, 2007 #1 Share Posted December 1, 2007 I can't recall from our last PG cruise whether they provide umbrellas. We went during June when rain was not really a factor. Now...we're going during the rainy season (end of December) and I think we should bring umbrellas if not provided. Anyone know?
Wendy The Wanderer Posted December 1, 2007 #2 Share Posted December 1, 2007 Yes they do, for stormy weather. But as I remember, they are the large heavy kind, like golf umbrellas. So a compact foldable one might be a good idea for those tropical downpours, which can happen at any time, but usually don't last. I'll be interested to hear about how the weather is, since we're going next December (although going up to the Marquesas where it apparently is the dry season.) cruznut1111 Posted December 6, 2007 #4 Share Posted December 6, 2007 UMBRE means Shade, not rain!! Yes, PG has them, and the shade you can get from them on those hot sunny days is wonderful. Just be sure you check that it will open and STAY open before you leave the dock. Oh yeah, you can also use it for rain, but our need was for the shade.:)
